FFC 1876
22 minutes ago, MrDust said: You do realise that a striker can still have ability and a decent career with a poor goals per game ratio, most cases in that respect is that they have more ability than just putting the ball in the net, not putting Connor in that bracket but he brought something to most his team's pre Hearts. He was doing well in the English premiership, stretching defences, running the flanks as a lone striker, not bad for a bloke with no ability and his value doubling after as you put it his one good season value in Scotland He would be nowhere near the clubs he has been at and international recognition if he didnt have no ability. Running the channels and stretching defences not fall under the athleticism bracket no? He can't play football but he used to be able to run rather fast for a player his size which is why he's been at the clubs he's been at as they've all believed his athleticism can be used as an asset. Unfortunately for us he no longer has that athleticism therefore he doesn't serve us a purpose.

His finish against raith was sublime and he has very quick feet for a big man. His first touch isn't great though and he's far better facing up to a defender than with his back to goal. He needs to do it far more though and put in more of a shift regularly. We also need to play to his strengths when he comes on and not pump long balls up to him. I think he's fine as a 3rd or 4th striker especially if m and m can get him going. Watching Aberdeen TV the now and that wee scrote hartley is in the studio. A lot of Hartley signings had athleticism, none will reach transfer fees of £1.8m/play in the highest level leagues in Scotland and England, perform at a level where bigger clubs or bigger transfer fees are involved and international recognition. He is now on a downward spiral at 33 but it wouldn't surprise me if he got a club who would play more to his strengths than we will in the 3rd tier and do well. He doesn't suit being in a team who are favourites to win every game although his 10 goals in 25 starts isn't the worst in the world. Lyndn Dykes scored 10 goals in his last season at QoS. FFC 1876
If Sammon does miraculously leave then we've surely got enough wiggle room for another striker to come in.

Maverick_-
Buchanan is signing for Qots. Should be confirmed this week. Very dodgy defender, however when hes having a good game he looks unbeatable.

Not good enough for us though eh Ray.

FFC 1876
Doesn't look like Ferguson but I could be wrong. Does look like Ramsbottom though, surely we've had more than enough of ex Morton players. Edited August 24, 2020 by FFC 1876
