Let's face it the season wouldnt start for us till probably october at the earliest and the prize money we get down here is chicken feed. If we were further up the food chain though things might be a bit more worrying but we're not.

Reggie Perrin
David Oliver hits the nail on the head for me especially the last 2/3 paragraphs The decision to kill the academy and go down the route of the “Brentford model” is surely one of the worst in the entire history of the club.Knocking back the £800k from the fans group in favour of Walter Mitty last summer also up there.

Craig Campbell was the biggest disaster on 2 legs to hit Falkirk in recent memory - still cannot believe the withering tribute Martin paid to him when he was sacked. He could only have been surpassed if MC had actually got the keys as we'd be completely bust by now.

Still no one has ever been made accountable for it either.

Was always of the opinion that the demise started when Eddie May left his post at the Academy.

Peter Houston said in an interview I heard on Radio Scotland that Margaret was all for the academy , the aim was for it to attain the second tier rating and work to the top tier. Then this new chief executive came in and everything changed and the academy went - in a shameful manner which we soon learned was Campbell's style. Campbell was never officially blamed for the decision (and Margaret took a lot of flak probably rightly so for her made up costs) but he was sacked (sorry let go) - however it was forever tainted with a Princess Diana like outpouring of grief from our Martin. On the minus side, As predicted elsewhere, a legal win by Hearts/Partick will end the SPFL as a functioning unit, with the likely result being the OF picking up their toys and going off with their favorite eight to ten dwarfs to make a new league for themselves. Where that leaves the remainder of fitba would be, depressingly, in an even worse shape than currently.

FFC are so far down the pecking order of things and have no influence at all. Case of wait and see and think no higher than existing when what the f**k is going to happen - happens !

Guest
To be fair to Budge, she has at least turned Scottish football back into a spectator sport....not the one we expected, but still. I think we all know well enough that these days, Doncaster does whatever Peter Lawwell tells him. Interesting too that she has stayed steered clear of the shark infested waters of denying clubs being deemed “league winners”.....Lawwell in particular wouldn’t have taken to his seven figure bonus being brought into doubt.God knows where it will all end up, but Doncaster won’t be able to make a Dundee secret deal with Hearts unless many millions of pounds are offered up. Doubtless Doncaster will be cursing his luck that it wasn’t the Launderers or Accies in 12th spot.
Guest
Heard similar that Margaret wanted to keep the Academy, but Craig and co decided to shut, with Margaret carrying the can and ultimately the door There were another 3 or 4 on the Board. Those two would have needed the backing of the Board. Let’s not let the rest of them off with it
