The Falkirk FC Thread

Recommended Posts

Loved the result last night but I guarantee you that the next BBC article about bad results in Europe will still have us in it.

At least here, we're not mentioned:

Anyway, about that EGM today......

How was Falkirk, the 10th team in Scotland, losing to the 10th team in Switzerland "debatable" for worst ever result? They played in Europe every season and Liechtenstein is a tax haven. Their budget would dwarf ours. Falkirk losing to Vaduz wouldn't crack the top 30. Vaduz won again last night, incidentally.

By far the worst ever result in Europe was Sellik getting their arses handed to them by the team from Gibraltar a few years back.

Nothing else even comes close.

Also us against Vaduz saw Eddie May up against Pierre Littbarski, hardly a fight of equals.

I know fine well ours was not the worst, just it gets lazily trotted out as such sometimes.
My bad phrasing.

Nah, one leg results are meaningless, it's the overall result that's of interest.

Can’t agree that it was meaningless.
Obviously in a two leg cup tie the overall win is the sole aim but you cannot dismiss a ridiculous result as meaningless.

Sellick went through in that tie did they not ?

For an individual match Celtic losing to the Red Imps has got to be the biggest upset. They were 1/10 to win FFS. Doesn't quite have the riddy factor as they went through comfortably in the 2nd leg.

Rangers-Progres and Hearts-Birkirkara are the two that jump out for me. Us v Vaduz isn't even close to those in terms of the gulf between the sides.

Aw here we go, the first deflection. Craig Richardson was part of a group who offered to fund the academy leaving the shortfall being only 12k and the offer was rejected. Andy Thomson responds by saying he wasn't part of the meetings so can't elaborate. GET SOMEONE WHO WAS PART OF THE MEETING TO ELABORATE THEN
