Have any of those clubs paid a World record transfer fee :P

In 2000 when Leeds signed Rio Ferdinand for 18M  it was a British transfer record and the World's most expensive defender. This was before TV money got silly.

So close to a World record but not quite to Syd Puddefoot level.

FFS!

Leeds' European record in the late 60s and early 70s -

2 Fairs Cup wins

European Cup Finalist

UEFA Cup Winners Cup Finalist

UEFA Cup Finalist.

That 1975 European Cup Final Leeds lost to Bayern Munich was a travesty. The Leeds fans to this day still sing about being  "Champions of Europe" and the match referee later admitted to taking a bribe to ensure Bayern won the match.

Watch Peter Lorimer's "goal" that was chopped off and the denied penalty for starters of how bent that match was.

A bit like Killie's win against us in the '97 match but much, much  worse. That was just incompetence but the Leeds match was corrupt.

You could also add Leeds getting to the Champions  League semi final under David O'Leary - what a team that was! They are miles bigger then Burnley........Jesus!

So, we don’t have a Chairman, but we do have a CEO and BoD which includes the previous Chairman who stood down because she got most things badly wrong.
We have a manager and his coaching staff, but only half a dozen or so players and the ever decreasing likelihood that he will be able to sign the players he wants before they sign up elsewhere (which has probably already happened).
The scenario is fast approaching the point where McKinnon will be tasked with ensuring we survive in Seaside League 1, and not get relegated.
Martin Ritchie will be confiding to friends and family that Raith Rovers are a big club and very experienced in League 1, so we shouldn’t be expected to compete with clubs like that.
We will probably have to redefine just how low the current board are prepared to take the club. I thought relegation might be their personal rock bottom, but that might just have been hopeful thinking.

She didn’t stand down. Openly telling people she was forced to resign

Some fucking neck on her tbf.... Brave choice to torpedo the one notion that might retain the tiniest slither of her integrity and credibility in the eyes of fans

While I appreciate this is probably your ultimate fantasy, it's complete bollocks.

You never learn do you? I will say this for you, you’re not shy of making an utter c**t of yourself on a regular basis.

I think your projection of 5 points if we beat Dumbarton was the very definition of bollocks, and is still your finest moment.

The idea we won't be able to get players in over the summer because we haven't started signing them yet is ridiculous, the play offs haven't even finished! Apart from last season's extraordinary signing show from Hartley, there always tends to be a down time after the season where players, agents and managers go on holiday. Last season we announced season ticket prices at the end of may, start of June but there are guys on social media screaming about the club not making statements even on basic stuff like that. It's criticism for the sake of it and not focusing on where we have actually went wrong.

I'd forgotten about that dodgy referee. That final was a disgrace and there have been others like it.

With the right investment, Leeds could be a massive club again. Like Newcastle, they are the sole club in one of the country's biggest cities.  Ken Bates was Leeds' Mike Ashley.

Successive Leeds owners have failed to invest enough. Elland Road is looking a bit shabby these days but there is plenty of spare land next to it it for a new stadium.

What you want there is for Leeds to live without their means which if your remember is how they ended up where they are. The prize money they get is huge more than enough to challenge for promotion, which they did this season. Far too many English clubs are reliant on owners who have no interest in football and if things go pear shaped they jump out, this is not a reliable model to build any business on. Small scaling it the Falkirk people are worried that a new board of fan owners might not have the capital to chuck cash at the club, but Falkirk would be in a far better place if the fans owned the club even if it meant sustainable football in League 1. You do not want some rich nutter running your club.

In principle, I'm totally in favour of fan ownership. However, fan ownership does not guarantee effective stewardship of the club.

The new PTFC Supporters Trust (the largest shareholder) was formed when the Weirs paid off our debts and gifted shares to the fans. Jacqui Low, the Weirs' adviser and just a board members at the time, was a founding trustee.  None of the current trustees are on the board. The club website suggests that the Trust has not even met this year - https://ptfc.co.uk/club/football-trust/

Jacqui Low is now Chairman and appointed the dreadful Gary "Powerpoint" Caldwell as manager. We were lucky not to be relegated as a result.

You were not lucky, we made an arse of the three “easy”home games against Thistle, Morton and Alloa to sink ourselves.
You were slightly less awful.

I assume the club when it went it fan ownership set up a charter otherwise you just end up with this one woman running things. Fan ownership done badly is awful however as all the fans own the club it's pretty difficult to get it so badly wrong, the fans should know exactly who does what at the club and have plenty opportunity to question them, you don't get this in traditional ownership models but it a key feature of just about every fan ownership system

Take it that McKinnon will be manager next season? Honestly cannot believe he's not been binned after saying he'd have taken being near the bottom of The Championship with a couple of games to go, incredible statement that. On the other hand we've a pretty decent record against him.

Especially when he was at yenitit.
