Chase Boone was a man,

Yes, a big man!

With an eye like an eagle

And as tall as a mountain was he!

Chase Boone was a man,

Yes, a big man!

He was brave, he was fearless

And as tough as a mighty oak tree!

From the coonskin cap on the top of ol' Chase

To the heel of his rawhide shoe;

The rippin'est, roarin'est, fightin'est man

The frontier ever knew!

Chase Boone was a man,

Yes, a big man!

And he fought for America

To make all Americans free!

What a boon, what a do-er,

What a dream come-a true-er was he!

Chase Boone was a man,

Yes, a big man!

With a whoop and a holler

He could mow down a forest of trees.

With a knife and a gun he never did fail

There was nothin' he could not tame.

He blazed a big wide liberty trail

Through history's hall of fame.

Chase Boone was a man,

Yes, a big man!

With a dream of a country

That would always forever be free.

What a boon, what a do-er,

What a dream come-a true-er was he!

Think my age is showing. Now do you believe I have been going to games since 1963!

It's great to see Ray exploring absolutely all avenues for players. With Houston, we were almost exclusively looking at the Scottish market whereas Hartley was similar with the English one.

Ray seems to be genuinely willing to look anywhere for the right quality of player which is very refreshing.

Good to see Boone being touted for having a very suitable song name. Not sold by the video though, too much of that in the summer making the current crop of diddies look ok.

The difference is that Hartley brought players in on just recommendations from a scout without even seeing them play in many cases. Ray is bringing players in to have a detailed look before signing anyone

Does anyone know if Boone is actually being signed or is he away back to Trumpton?

Only the manager will know that and he may not have made up his mind yet. He was one of a large number of trialists who played in a closed-door match last week and showed up well enough to get invited back for the club to have a second look at him. As did one other player in that game, whose name hasn't appeared online yet.

I wouldn't get too excited atm.  There's been a few trialists whose names have been reported in the press, such as Joel Thomas, Souleymane Diakite, Anton Rodgers,  Ola Ademayo & Franck Betra and none of them got contract offers.  Boone could well end up being the same.

We'll know for certain once January comes round.

Oh come on chaps. Easy steal here from Man City with the vocally talented giving it a rendition of “Blue Boone, you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart, without a goal of our own” (well maybe one home goal of our own).
