Guest Posted November 3, 2018 Share Posted November 3, 2018 There are no stand out teams in this league, but regardless of their ability to impress or not impress, every single one of them other than Alloa has had enough to beat us with in most cases, a fair degree of comfort. We really can’t go through Q2 as we did Q1. We really are inviting trouble if we do that. Of course, McKinnon has worked wonders getting 4 points, but everything is really landing in the shoulders of two or three players, and if we keep going with what we have, the few that are performing are going to take a downturn. It really is going to come down to the Alloa and Partick games. Goals are harder to come by of course, but every game starts at 0-0. While nobody was gutted to see him leave Morton, Mark Russell must have at least 70 appearances comfortably playing left-back in teams who were mid-table at this level. Given the rest of the rabble that he found after snaking his way over, McKinnon's decision to freeze Russell out for the second time in a handful of months is clearly down to some personal issue rather than a credible judgment of his ability. A manager who wasn't such an egotistical dickhead would have swallowed their pride and actually played all of the better players in his squad by now, but instead you ended up with Ray 'Ray' McKinnon.
