I can't even begin to guess the team we can put out now..I'll give it a go.

                                                   Fasan

McGhee Muirhead Dallison Robson

Sammut TOE Paton

Petrevicuius Froxylius

Lewis

Assuming we dont bring in any full backs or Strikers anyway.

This is probably a reasonable signing, and I'd certainly have him as an "experienced" player ahead of Flood. St Johnstone exit was a strange one so hopefully he was hard done by and is a Premiership player?

Imagine how different the reaction would be to this one if it had been a Houston signing.

What a feckin' squad though!

First time since Jefferies in all likelyhood I've looked at a potential starting 11 and had few major doubts about it.

Fasan, maybe.  Froxylias and Petrevicius. But other than that, it's looking solid and those three may well prove me wrong, I hope they do.

Obviously it's a total guess as I've no idea what half this lot will be like but from how it sounds i'd go something along these lines

Fasan

McGhee Muirhead Dallison Robson

Paton

Sammut TOE

Froxylius

Lewis New Striker

Backups from

Mitchell, Mutch

Brough, Harrison

Mckee, Kidd, Petravicius, Dunne

O'Hara, Shepherd

I like a 5 3 2. But thats purely for emotional reasons, having been the happiest I ever was as a Bairn during the McCall season. For that reason, I also hope for a new RWB.

Tbh, I couldn’t say Iv seen any of the new recruits play apart from Paton, it could very well go tits up. But like has been said before it’s been an exciting few weeks so far.

Tbf Houston would also have Willo Flood, Mark Durnan, Derek Lyle and Paul Quinn signed up as well.

Best signing so far [emoji106]!

Whit?

He might be the only player we know so far but surely Dallison, Lewis, TOE and especially Sammut are all ‘better’ and more exciting signings.

Quite possibly. But I survived Berry at fullback and Ferguson and Hamilton in midfield so this will be a good season. Sure as shite can't be worse than the last one.

Pros: Never anything remotely close to less than 100% effort, decent guy to have if you are in the trenches.

Cons: Football isn't played in trenches.

It's hard to be too critical of a guy that tries as hard for you as Paton will but as a footballer, he's severely limited. He takes one-footed to a new level and certainly won't help build any sort of possession game. He can ping a decent pass over a longer distance though. He'll battle defensively but goes to ground too easily and when he picks up his inevitable booking becomes fairly ineffective.

He tries really hard though.
