Chris Hughton...

CM.

No doubt Ashley will not have a plan B if he fails to get an 'experienced manager', I wouldn't be surprised if we end up employing somebody like Gus Poyet...Nothing NUFC related can surprise me nowadays.

Can't honestly believe this, Hughton was probably a better manager for them than Mourinho would be (don't laugh) because the players all respected him and he knew them inside out from his time as coach.

The cynical part of me says Mike Ashley has either agreed a sale and taken the rap for sacking the manager before the new owners come in to appoint their own man, Or that he's wanting players to tout themselves for transfers in January so he can recoup some money.

Either way it's a terrible decision

Pardew would mean relegation and would be the worst appointment in recent times, far worse than Burnley and Laws because Coyle left them, this is entirely down to Ashley's decisions.

For sure they have potential to be in the top 4 names in their league.

Potential doesn't make you a big club, big clubs win things, Newcastle haven't won a domestic trophy in over 50 years.

Big club my arse.

BBC saying Pardew in by weekend.

Sky were saying the same about Jol this morning.

Can't really add anything else here, terrible decision and one that is most likely to end up costing Newcastle. I've no doubt that Hughton will pick himself up and get on with it. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him at one of the lower end of the table clubs in January/February. Possibly Wigan?

Doubt he will manage another club again

No chance. He was an excellent manager at STJ as the players have came out and said and worked wonders on a pretty small buget. I imagine he will be back in management before the end of the season. If not then, almost certainly in the summer.

I know, he is undoubtedly talented, but with a group of players he already had a great understanding with. Would he be the same with players he has never met before?

Can see him being a Coach possibly even a Assistant Manager very soon but not as a Manager

I'm now beginning to suspect Ashley just bought the club as a piss-take tbh. Unless anybody else can come up with another plausible explanation? Alan Pardew ffs.

He bought it with the dream of making Newcastle a superpower, he chose them because the fan power and stadium were already set for this. What he didn't realise was the problems at the club and the amount of debt the club was in. He's been steadily trying to reduce the debt and recoup money ever since, clouding his judgement somewhat. Still doesn't explain the Hughton sacking (or imminent Pardew appointment) i know but it kinda explains why hes fucked up so much at that club

A truly bizarre choice. Has he done anything especially noteworthy since doing well at Reading a few years ago?

Since leaving Reading a few years ago (2003) he has gained promotion with West Ham and took them to a FA Cup final, almost got Southampton promoted even with as 10 point deduction (you listening Dundee) and won the Football League Trophy. Not bad but not fantastic either

He gained promotion at the second time of asking despite having a relatively large budget for the Championship. The FA Cup Final was a great achievement, as was a top 10 finish. His next season was abysmal though. Set a new record number of defeats in a row (including getting beat by Chesterfield in the cup). He didn't seem to want to play Tevez and Mascherano, and he was punted (thankfully) before the New Year. Then at Charlton he did alright in the EPL (they were still relegated but their form was better under him) but messed up when they were in the Championship.

He's a poor manager at any level above the Championship - unless he gets copious amounts of cash.

With good reason it turned out laugh.gif

I absolutely agree with your second point aswell

Even Jose Mourinho wouldn't get a team promoted with a -25 pointer.

I could be wrong but i think he also got punted by West Ham after a truly terrible run of results, relegated Charlton and got the bullet from Southampton for some off-field issues.

Bit of a mixed bag really.

It certainly seems like a pisstake, but he stands to loose too much money, when it goes tits up AGAIN! Its hard to believe someone could be so stupid. At least some of the other terrible owners in the Premier League have had a bit of logic behind their decision. The article in the Mirror is truely staggering!

His shambolic reign has included:

Buying the club without doing due diligence giving himself a load of debt in the process.

Sacking Allardyce when he wasn't really under pressure to do so.

Appointing Keegan.

Lying to Keegan and appointing Wise as Director of Football.

Appointing his mate, casino owner Llambais as chairman.

Selling Milner behind the managers back.

Backing Wise over Keegan and the unbelievable shambles of September 2008.

Getting sued for £2million for the lies he told Keegan.

Admitting to lying to the press and the fans for PR reasons.

Putting the club up for sale and leaving the club managerless for over a month. Lost all 4 games in the time.

Appointing Joe Kinnear, someone most folk thought was dead.

When Kinnear has a heart attack, lets the club run managerless for another month.

Finally appointing a manager with only 8 games left.

Relegation

Admitting his mistakes, saying Shearer is the man, then putting the club up for sale again out of the blue and nothing happening.

Let it rot without any management atall, from the boardroom or on the playing side, for over 2 months.

Finally deciding he gives a f**k when Hughton and the players organise themselves into some sort of a team.

The plan to change the name of the ground.

Having a bet with his chairman which ends up in him running naked across the pitch.

A period of stability, without much investment really.

The day after promotion, releasing a statement to say there is no money to spend.

Looking for a replacement for Hughton in October.

Blasting Hughton for daring to clap the fans when they sing his name during a 5-1 derby victory.

Sacking Hughton out of the blue,

Appointing Pardew? Pretty much because he is his mate.

Add all the stuff in the Mirror to that. It really has been a reign of terror. Hughton and the senior players have basically saved the club from destruction, and he has went and sacked him. He makes Romanov look calm and dignified!

Alan Pardew, You must be taken the piss. Heard Martin Jol name getting mentioned think that would be a good appointment imo.

It's obvious now he's been waiting around for some bad results and Ashley to pull the trigger. I hate the c**t already. Hope he hits black ice on the way to sign his contract, then is pelted with bricks as he tries to get out the car.
