Guest Tarvie
A day of shocks in the Highland league and things are getting tight. I thought the biggest shock was huntly getting gubbed
Loki
Well the first round of the Fosters cup has brought up a very interesting meeting of Buckie Vs Forres. Duncan Shearer Vs Stevie Paterson. Very intriguing. Might goto that game. With the shocks at the weekend, especially Clach losing, the title race has been blown wide open. Its still there for the taking. But you must still fancy Locos or Huntly. I'd love to see the Broch win it.

Guest Guinness_Alan
What was the scores? i have no idea. 12 02 2005 Buckie Thistle FC 2 v 1 Inverurie Loco Works FC Cove Rangers FC 2 v 0 Rothes FC Forres Mechanics FC P v P Keith FC Fort William FC P v P Deveronvale FC Fraserburgh FC 3 v 1 Huntly FC Nairn County FC 5 v 0 Brora Rangers FC Wick Academy FC 3 v 1 Clachnacuddin FC Obviously Cove beating Rothes was a shock. Wick beating Clach was a major shock, and may have ended Clach's chances of catching up. I know Fraserburgh are top just now, but I still think it will be between Huntly and the Locos. Waspie
Had Clach won last Saturday they would have been looking like good bets but losing in Wick is a really poor effort and even though they still have a chance I cant seem them doing it now. They will have to beat Fraserburgh at Grant Street tomorrow without doubt.
Guest Tarvie
I do think its coming down to the Loco's and Huntly, which even if Huntly win it shows how far the Loc's have come in the past 5 years
Loki
Todays Results: Inverurie Locos Works 2 Cove Rangers 1 Deveronvale 3 Wick Academy 2 Clachnacuddin 0 Fraserburgh 1 A wonderful win for the Broch surely ending the faint title hopes that Clach still had. Locos picking up another win which keeps their title hopes ticking over. But it definately looks like we will again see the defending champions dethroned. League Table Top 6: Fraserburgh 23 9 1 1 8 0 4 64 29 +35 52 Inverurie Lo 21 7 2 0 9 0 3 58 16 +42 50 Huntly 17 6 0 1 7 2 1 48 22 +26 41 Deveronvale 18 9 1 1 4 0 3 49 26 +23 40 Clachnacudin 19 6 1 3 6 0 3 49 26 +23 37 Buckie Thistle 19 6 1 3 6 0 3 40 20 +20 37 Amazing to think that Huntly have a stunning 6 games in hand, Im pretty sure having to play that many games in such a short time will seriously hinder them later on in the season. And lastly a big well done to the former Ross County Player Kenny Gilbert who scored the decisive goal for the Vale against Wick. His playing comeback is complete, well done wee man! I honestly thought the loco's game would have been called off but glad that they dont have a serious fixture build up like huntly. I seriously doubt that Clach will hold onto their title now and I can see the Broch staying on top for too long. I still think its down to Loc's and Huntly, with Huntly struggling with their games in hand. All sort of shows that their is life in the League without Inverness, Ross County & The Blue Toon

They cant all win these games. Definately between Vale, Broch, Locos and Huntly. You would have to fancy Huntly, but with Locos slip at the weekend a resurgent nairn could scupper them. Loki
The weekends matches: Clachnacuddin 2 v 2 Cove Rangers Deveronvale 0 v 2 Buckie Thistle Forres Mechanics 5 v 0 Wick Academy A very bad result for Vale's outside chances of the championship. A buoyant win for Forres especially after Wick's recent surprise form. A certain Ross County coach even made it onto the scoresheet, and was denied a second eventhough hes claiming it The final nail in the Clach championship coffin. Waspie
The weekends matches:Clachnacuddin 2 v 2 Cove Rangers The final nail in the Clach championship coffin. I was at the Clach game on Saturday, bloody freezing I hadnt seen the Lillies since before Christmas and they look a shadow of the side they were, definately in end of season mode. They came back from 2-0 down without playing well at all and in the end they should have won but lacked composure in the box. Cove were pretty rubbish too and the game was not a great advert for the Highland League. Huntly have their destiny in their own hands but loads of games to play, who knows what will happen. Loki
Even more interesting is that the Locos meet Huntly on Saturday, I think its in Inverurie but I cant remember off hand. Locos surely have to get a win or at the very least avoid defeat.

Yep, it's Inverurie v Huntly on Saturday. That game could go a long way towards deciding the championship. With Fraserburgh having a free Saturday the Locos would go top if they win. A win for Huntly however, would give them a boost and put the pressure on Inverurie. Not that I really care, mind. I tend to keep my eye on the other end of the table! Im surprised Rothes are doing so badly, they really didnt look too bad at Grant Street earlier in the season and I thought they would pick up a few more wins.
