I quite like that the challenge cup had teams from other countries , it’s something different for most teams who won’t normally play a competitive match outside Scotland , (or if they do get into europe via the Scottish cup likely get pumped in the first game) & I wouldn’t mind if it had some other teams from minnow leagues in northwestern Europe either but it does need money!

Also I don’t mind that it’s harder for a team who finishes 4th in a league of 10 to go up via the playoffs than it is for 2nd place

What about a team that finishes 5th?

We played Connah's Quay in the semi finals and it is the closest Edinburgh City are likely to get to a European tie

Unfortunately given their tactics and the state of the town it was like playing a middle rank Ayrshire juniors team c1997 in Moldova. Still at least they weren't an Arsecheeks Colts team

Falkirk played Connah's Quay as well and got pumped by them, IIRC several rounds before you in the same tournament.

A result that barely fits in the top 50 of Falkirk's banter years content now.

That for me was the game that really showed up just how much  Hartley or whoever scouted the wonder signings of 2018 had fucked up, it was like watching an amateur game  , both sides looked about the same level and the better team won.  how he ever got employed in football again is beyond me

I don't think anyone can argue that point. It shouldn't be as equally hard for 3rd place though which is exactly the shite setup we have for the Championship. Our play-offs should be the exact same setup as League 1 with 4th place playing the second last side from the league above first.

certainly agree, the fact that the second bottom team has a one off tie to save their season whilst the others have to play 2 or 4 games in 10 days is bullshit

the clubs who’ve finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the championship and those who’ve finished 11th will be generally drawn from the same pool of middling to small clubs so if there is an imbalance it’ll even itself out over enough time.

if a club has enough points to guarentee the playoffs with 8 games to go but can't win the league, why bother trying for 2nd? why not just rest players and have the squad ready for the 2 big play off matches to win promotion?

Apart from keeping players sharp and match fit, it cannot be often when a team has secured a play-off spot with 8 games to go.  And, 2nd gives a team an advantage compared to 3rd and 4th, at least in the important league.

From the perspective of people attacking it as '3RD WAVE INCOMING' it's nonsense to say they're different.

One was people protesting about a really important human issue. The other is a bunch of drunkards needlessly gathering together. They're absolutely different.

What were Thursday's protests about?

The home office trying to take folk away.

Moe has it the wrong way around IMO.
