There's no point in having huge TV news organisations if half the populations reaction is to look at their phones and decide that what's on TV is a pile of lies. But there’s a word that has been getting used now for maybe the past 18-24 months, said by prominent politicians and celebrities on Twitter, a word that I read multiple times a day. That word is ‘woke’, and I genuinely couldn’t even begin to try and explain what it means. It seems to be getting used as an insult, towards people who hold views such as ‘immigrants that come to this country should be treated with compassion’. That video above where Le Tissier uses the word without context, can anyone explain what he means when he says ‘the woke Mr Southgate’?
