Twitter allows people to build communities of like minded people who can exchange information that you won't see on TV or on the radio. Billionaires want people isolated and ignorant so Twitter seems to be for the chop.

I'll be gutted if it goes.

You think all those investors who funded Musk and who were locked in at the pre-buy out share price are happy to see billions wiped off their balance sheets because people get together and say bad things about them on a platform designed for people to get together and say things on?

That's a heck of a price to pay for silence.

Billionaires spend a lot of money on media to shape public opinion. Twitter hugely undermines that. There's no point in having huge TV news organisations if half the populations reaction is to look at their phones and decide that what's on TV is a pile of lies.

I can see it shutting down in someway and coming back as something closer to Instagram and TikTok where users have less control over what content they see.

The absolute fucking state of this:

Or you could just get a life instead.

Journalists fuming that their talking shop is going up in flames.

You would think they would be glad given twittter has utterly exposed the fallacy that the commentariat had anything worthwhile, informed or interesting to say or that banging out 1000 words on your mundane life requires any particular skill.

And all the data harvesting. All the bits after the ? in this tweet are for that purpose, nothing to do with communication.

Like QAnon, race-baiting 'peado ring' groups and every other flavour of nutjob echo chambers: including liberal media variants.

It's been nothing but an upward tick for humanity since it was created - sorely missed!

But what about @Detournement saying it was HALF the population getting the REAL news.

8 billion (just born) half = 450 million users @Granny Danger you ok with sums here?

I’m someone who likes to think they keep up with current affairs, and always has a good grasp of the current buzzwords and terminology used on social media. But there’s a word that has been getting used now for maybe the past 18-24 months, said by prominent politicians and celebrities on Twitter, a word that I read multiple times a day.

That word is ‘woke’, and I genuinely couldn’t even begin to try and explain what it means. It seems to be getting used as an insult, towards people who hold views such as ‘immigrants that come to this country should be treated with compassion’. That video above where Le Tissier uses the word without context, can anyone explain what he means when he says ‘the woke Mr Southgate’? I’m no fan of Gareth Southgate but what has he done which has led to him being labelled ‘woke’?
