Father Dougal McGuire
It’s currently 1.32 on Smarkets. You’ll see two boxes with prices, the left is to ‘back’ and the right is to ‘lay’. If you click the right hand box it will ask for your stake. Put £50 and you’ll see your liability is £16.

He now seems to be odds-on everywhere so wondering if I can bet against him so as to guarantee myself money either way? To complicate things, I seem to have got my account suspended by Betfair. I assume other bookies do lay betting? Listen to the good Father, but remember that "Next PM" and "Next Tory Party Leader" are different bets. It's possible Boris could win the leadership and not be able to prove he has the support of the house to be appointed PM. Sounds pedantic but someone on here had a bit of bother with May stopping being Party Leader but staying on as PM.
ThomCat
Is there a way to specify which Free Bet amount to use on Paddy Power? I have a £30 one for recently joining (use in 30 days) and a wee £2 odd free bet (use in 7 days) from their acca insurance promo. It only seems to take from the bigger amount free bet. Thanks
deej
Is this bet - Livingston to win the match by exactly one goal?
charger29
Edit: Missed the tie part at the beginning. Not 100%

Effectively yes, you're betting on the result to be a draw once Livingston's-1 handicap has been applied. Most bookies do a winning margin market too. The price for Livingston to win by 1 will be identical.
Cardinal Richelieu
Scotland vs San Marino ... 5/6 on a penalty on Betfair. Surely that's not very likely? How the feck do I bet against it? I've tried the Exchange and no dice

Cardinal Richelieu
Ah well. Stuck a 10er on draw half time, Scotland full time. 96 quid in the bag (hopefully)

charger29
How do league table finishing position bets work with points deductions?I presume the position post deduction would be the one used? Or would the bet be void?

charger29
Yes.Cheers. Might be worth keeping an eye on what happens with Man City. Can't see a points deduction coming but the odds on one of the teams around 5/6th getting into the top 4 seem decent.

So your stake on your winning horse to win was £2.33 at 20/1 instead of £1, and another £2.33 at 4/1 (1/5ths odds) for the place.
hearthammer
Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately, being moi, i still don't follow the logical breakdown. However, as I was only expecting around 1/2 of what i got, i will re-invest some in today's racing. Thanks again.
fanny paddery
Hi All, can people help me with the settlement of this bet. I have it worked out that it should roll in to 2 x $5 singles, is that not correct. If so, why not?
