Hi All,

can people help me with the settlement of this bet. I have it worked out that it should roll in to 2 x $5 singles, is that not correct. If so, why not?

I can't see how it could be anything else, with a return of $27.50.

It looks as though they have changed your 5 four-folds into 3 doubles and 2 singles, making only the Leeds single a possible win.
MILF -> ML - Lose

MILS -> ML - Lose

MLSF -> ML - Lose

MISF -> M - Lose

ILFS -> L - Possible Win

I’m not saying that’s what they should have done, but it tallies with their potential return.

If it's five four-folds you only have one line left where Man City aren't in it. So you'll get just the one line paid with Leeds but no City. Seems correct to me.

Things that have had me wondering :

When the race card shows the specific weight to be carried on a particular horse (eg, 9st 2lbs) and the jockey has a claim of, say, 5lbs, is the jockey's claim weight deducted from the specific weight shown ??

Why do many races have distances that are extended by the round sum furlong lengths (ie,  7fl  37yards/1m 4fl  65yards)  ??

Can jockeys hear, and do they pay attention to, the course commentary via the speaker system ??

Cheers

1. The claim comes off the weight carried.

2. No idea.

3. The jockeys have a bit of a chat during periods of races. I doubt they can listen to course side commentary though ha ha.

Thanks for that.

1  I assumed that to be the case, but wasn't sure

2  Strange that there seems to be random extension yardage to certain races.

3  I was thinking if a leader could hear that the favourite had fallen just behind them, or the likes.

3. The eyes have it on that score. At the business end of a race they will be unlikely to hear .much apart from hooves rattling over turf!

I thought as the bets were voided one by one it would go from 5x 4-folds to 4x trebles to 3x doubles to 2x singles. I accept I'm wrong though, just not sure why.

I suspect that it was handled the way it was due to the simplicity of the structure of the bet laid.
Had it been laid as a Canadian or Lucky 31, it would probably have been rolled to 2 singles.

I occasionally see posts on the Win Counter or Coupon Busters threads where posters have placed 5, 6, 7 (etc.) fold bets where some of the matches finish before others are due to start, sometimes even on different days.
I can see why this would make sense in the old days when a trip to the Bookies was required or a decision to pay your betting tax on your stake or winnings was involved.
Similarly, I could understand if the bets were permutations, but the stake and (expected) winnings shown would suggest otherwise.
To me, this choice only seems to lend itself to going into the later games with the bet already lost or not having the opportunity to bank some of the winnings  from the earlier games and then place the balance on the later ones.
Any explanations?

Might not be the most sensible way to go about things, but I just pick the 5 games in a day that I think offer the best value and bung a fiver on, and if the odds are good enough to make it worthwhile I bung another fiver on 50p trebles. And try not to chase it with another bet when the first game goes pear shaped.

that's a really nice strategy :))) will try it too. What other strategies are you guys using ? I have tried a lot of different strategies, but nothnig seemed to work. In the end, it's all just luck, I think. What is your opinion on that point? I am just really disappointed, because recently I have analysed EVERYTHGING and bet on a  match that should have ended like 99,9% with my prediction. I was playing on Online casino utan svensk licens, which is pretty good, but my bet didn't work. This is really awful

Have you ever tried putting a parsnip up your bum for good luck?  60 % of the time it works every time.

I guess I've missed something here but I noticed 'mental' odds on a volleyball game so took a punt (there are two bets cause I only had £1.81 in the account and the odds improved after my first £1 bet)

The third set finished 25-20 ... my winning margin of 2 bet is good!?

(Virgin are looking into it for me)

Looks like the margin had to be 2 exactly, not 2 or more. Thus the big odds.

Can any arbers out there tell me if there's any profit to be made here?

Mcbookies

Bet365

Apologies for the late answer, but yes.

First check is what is required stake to guarantee £100 return for each possible outcome. If total stake is under £100, then the opportunity is there.

£67 Formartine 1/2 with Bet365 returns £100.50

£14.30 Draw 6/1 with McBookie returns £100.10

£16.70 Nairn 5/1 with McBookie returns £100.20

£98 outlay for a guaranteed £100+ return. Obviously scalable depending on your funds available and what you think won’t get noticed.
