Lee Bains booked for the 14th of April at Broadcast in Glasgow.  He’s one of my favourite people, let alone live acts.  Highly recommended if you are in search of some Alabama punk.

Would have loved to go to that gig, unfortunately a junior cup semi final on the same night! 😕

Next gig is Louis Dunford at the QMU, really looking forward to seeing him!!

Monday night in the company of Blackberry Smoke. Quite simply outstanding. Non stop for two hours, superb musicians, one of the best live bands going. Also strong cardigan game from their guitarist.

Support from the Read Southall Band, who were very good indeed as well.

They were absolutely on fire last night as were the crowd. Terrific stuff as per usual.

Not long back from The Courettes. An hour after the gig finished and my head is still buzzing. Flavia Couri is absolutely brilliant.

I like them too, but that’s up with Dogs Die In Hot Cars as bad band name.  Like cross between Courgette and Tourette’s.

Very tempted by The Boys With The Perpetual Nervousness, supported by US Highball, on the 13th, but I’ve got Lee Bains on the 14th and I don’t want to take two days off work.  By which I mean I do, but I can’t afford it.

Few gigs this month:

Nina Nastasia with support from Rick Redbeard (Tunnels - 7th)
Aibhe Reddy (The Hug and Pint - 15th)
Lichen Slow (The Hug and Pint - 28th)
Steve Mason (King Tuts - 29th)

Hoping to get a ticket for Billy Nomates at QMU on the 22nd - if not then going to see Dave Gorman!

He was good i thought. I left a few songs early as was surrounded by some absolute arseholes talking and shouting the whole way through... hey ho maybe im just getting old and grumpy.

Had moved about a bit but seemed to me trapped between the back of the bar queue and the side of the crowd. Being a tall c**t i feel bad about pushing too much in front of folk once it starts.
