Ca. 14.000 tickets sold out in about 10 minutes. First became aware of them, when they had a video played on The Tube back in 1983, with subsequent interview with Muriel Gray. Die Ärzte - Tube 1983 That episode of the Tube was co-presented by a guy called Mark Reeder who moved from Manchester to Berlin in the 70s and got involved in the music scene there. He made a pretty decent documentary of his memoirs a couple of years ago...

FairWeatherFan
Thought this might be quicker right now. Anyone know what the Dolly Parton(?) Song was that Ghost finished up to?

Le Tout P'ti FC
Richard Dawson at the CCA next week. Heard him on radio for first time recently singing a daftly melodromatic wee song about kids football, and I'm hooked.Hope those thugs from King's Priory don't turn up.

kev23
Louis Berry last night at £7 a ticket was a steal. I'm surprised he hasn't broken out into the mainstream a bit more.
the aggressive beggar
Got Ride on Dec 4th at SWG3 then Mick Head at Summerhall in January. Unfortunately it seems he is back on the bevvy so current outlook for the gig is - 30% it's cancelled 30% it's a car crash of a gig 40% he straightens out and is utterly incredible

Comrie
Recovering from Darkness Guides Us this morning. Had to leave Ancient with five minutes to go, my stomach was an absolute mess from repeated takeaways and cheap lager through the weekend. Varathorn, Fen, Enimus, Ancient, Harakiri for the Sky and Kawir were the highlights for me.
2lgm
Live music is basically great isn't it? Tastes differ, obviously, and there are loads of gigs get mentioned on here that I'd have no interest in myself - but you almost never get anyone coming on here saying "I saw x last night and they were a bit shit tbh". I go to maybe a couple of gigs a month and there have been better ones and and not-so-great ones but I can't remember the last time I went to a duff one that hadn't been worth going to. (At least, if I'm excluding festival sets, which have a greater element of pot luck.) One of life's great pleasures. Can’t beat it for a night out. I always meant to or wanted to go to more gigs than I have been to but other things have got in the way. Never been to a bad one always had a good night out.
