jaggyness
French conspiracy against Roglic must be due to be called soon enough. Roglic can consider himself in good company as I also came off the bike on Saturday. Maybe it’s just me - I don’t quite get the grief for Roglic passing Mader almost on the line on Saturday’s stage. Given what happened yesterday any time advantage you can get is much needed for the what if scenarios in the follow up stages. It’s a shame that it was to be Mader’s first win but I’m sure he will go on to many wins as he’s given a good account himself on both the stage and race overall with his 10th place. I took Ganna as an e/w bet for Milan - San Remo at 33/1 but it’s hard to see past van der Poel on current form. It’s a hope more than expectation bet. It's interesting this season so far. Being a favourite hasn't really worked for anyone other than Tadej Pogacar. Some of those are down to the unpredictability of road cycling, crashes, mechanicals etc, but the form guide has, to s certain extent gone out the window. Roglic was massive favourite for Paris Nice, Van Aert and Alaphilippe were massive favourites for Strade Bianche. There have also been some surprising results, Bernal coming 3rd at Strade Bianche for example or Pinot looking just quite as bad as he has recently. It'll be a few weeks yet with the monuments coming before we really know who's showing real form
jaggyness
Filippo Ganna finally fails to win a TT in the rainbow stripes as Van Aert wins the final stage time trial in Tirreno Adriatico with Pogacar taking the overall.

It’s no coincidence that Ganna doesn’t perform as expected straight after I tip him for an upcoming race. Thereafter looking forward to seeing Hirschi’s first outing for UAE and how Carapaz will perform this season at the Tpur of Catalunya. Think him and Porte (depending on severity of his Paris-Nice injury) could feel slightly hard done by if they are to be supporting Thomas/Geoghegan-Hart at the Tour but just goes to show the potential strength of that team.

kiddy
Anybody thinking of betting on MVdP for Flanders on Sunday might want to think about it. Watching Dwars Door Vlaanderen & the way he's going suggests he might be ill. Dylan van Barle will need to fall off to lose, 30 secs up on the chasers, wi 5km left. Been out on his own for 50+km's. printer
Wonderful win and first monument for Kasper Asgreen in De Ronde, outlasting MvdP in the sprint after those two has dropped WvA. Brutal last 100k, as per.
kiddy
Wonderful win and first monument for Kasper Asgreen in De Ronde, outlasting MvdP in the sprint after those two has dropped WvA. Brutal last 100k, as per.Asgreen has been amazing in this years classics. Be that taking E3 and Flanders or riding in support in the other races.A thoroughly deserved win, it came down to matter of secs, in being able to sustain their sprint, as to today's finish. As both were completely spent at the end.
kiddy
Roglic posts the best time, early doors, in the Basque country Tour's ITT 1st stage. 20 secs+ up on most big names through already. Kelderman Fuglsang, Shachmann, Bilbao. Carapaz & TGH both about 1 min down. Jumbo & Bora both with 3 riders each in the top 10 so far. McNulty 2 secs down, having been 5 up at the time check. Adam Yates & Pogacar come in in 28 secs down. Roglic takes stage. Edited April 5, 2021 by kiddy
jaggyness
After a public spat with the bora management rumours abound of Sagan being sought by deceuninck quick step! Hard to see how they get the balance right for races with Almeida, Alaphilippe, Sagan, Bennett, Asgreen, Stybar, Morkov, Evenepoel, Ballerini, Cavendish, Lampaerts, I could go on! Too many leaders there wanting to pursue their own goals!

kiddy
r attacks with Gaudot, 5km from the top of the final climb today. Carapaz follows & almost instantly crashes on the first corner they take. Looks like wet/greasy road surface & he's pulled back. Might be interesting on the descent into the finish.
kiddy
Roglic, Schachmann, McNulty & Higuita away on the break, but McNulty clocked resting on his bars! Could be a DQ with the new rules in force. Edited April 6, 2021 by kiddy
buddie06smfc
Farcical if McNulty were to be disqualified for hands off the bar! Great move by Astana on the descent.

kiddy
Just when you're waiting for a bus, then a second one arrives!Just months after it looking like Cav's career was coming to an end, he reels off two sprint wins in the Tour of Turkey!#TopBanana
kiddy
Top win for Tom Pidcock who scores a convincing win over Matteo Trentin & WVA in the final sprint in Brabantse Pijl. Initiated a lot of the attacks & finished in style from a high class group of three as they were being closed down in the last km.
