Absoloutely pishing it down at the MTF today. They've lost the pictures from the Moto's, with  Lopez on the attack; who's closing on the stage leaders.
Was wondering how Quintana/Valverde had caught Lopez, when they got the pictures back, but he had crashed.
Movistar's bus will be good tonight. Soler was on for the stage win & got called back to aid Quintana; he was raging! Quintana came up with Pogacar from UAE who promptly attacked & went on to take the stage. In the end, Roglic limited his losses to Quintana, took a couple from Valverde in bonus seconds & took about 30 from Lopez.
Next up is Tuesdays ITT, where I fully expect Roglic to spank the others for a good amount of time.
Was away all weekend and just got round to watching the highlights, terrific ride (what we saw of it) from Pogacar. Can't see Lopez making up the lost time from his crash unless he has a crazy day as agree Roglic should take huge chunks of time out of Lopez and Quintana in the time trial, I'd expect him to take at least a minute on Lopez, Quintana can time trial but this is a specialist's route. Already looking forward to the monumental stage on Friday to Los Machucos

Carapaz joining Ineos next season on a 3 year deal. With 4 grand tour winners in the one team it will be interesting to see who they select for what race.

Certainly looks like it's going to be Jumbo Visma v Ineos for the foreseeable future, with Mitchelton-Scott maybe concentrating on stage wins and trying to get into the top 5 with the Yates boys. That's assuming both JV and Ineos take all three Grand Tours seriously - Sky didn't really put any great effort into the Giro except when Thomas was getting his first leadership chance (then crashed) then when Froome was going for this 3 Grand Tours at the same time ride, and while they've done better in the Vuelta it seems more because Froome likes it rather than having any great plans to win it. I think the ITV commentators were saying Wout Poels is going to Bahrain Merida? He'll be a big miss for Ineos although I assume they think Teo Goeaghan Hart can do that job.

There's a possibility that Ineos will take their leader from the giro as a super domestique to the tour and so on. Froome be 35 next May so will probably only be targeting the tour once again. Bernal or Thomas to target the Giro and carapaz the vuelta?

Yes, I think that will be the plan. It's worked to a certain degree with other teams and also I guess with Froome winning the Giro and ending up being number 2 to Thomas in the following tour. I think Froome will be targeting the Tour if possible to get to number 5 then possibly the Vuelta after he's done that. I wonder if Thomas will go back to classics and a super domestique role or if he and the team really believe he can win another Grand Tour. To be fair he was pretty strong in the Tour but nowhere near the level of Bernal. I wonder if they're going to have a Movistar style implosion in the next year or so though.

Roglic spanking everyone as expected. Valverde for 1.38, catches Lopez for 2 mins  & Quintana for 3.06 . Pogacar was up there at the 1st TC (11 secs), but lost a packet from thereon in dropping 1.29 .
David Millar reckoned he'd had a bike change but there was no footage and they never asked him at the end, and he also didn't seem to flustered either. He'll be looking to overtake Nairo now.

Eurosport reckoned a mechanical problem, for Pogacar, too. As he lost a good bit of that by the 2nd time check.

Im sure Millar commented that he was definetly on hte replacement bike as it didn't have a number on.

Pogacar looks to be future grand tour winner, really disappointing if he goes to Ineos though.

Also been impressed by Soler who would have had the stage win if he wasn't called back to help Quitana, and put in a solid TT as well

Pretty sure Eurosport said Pogacar is on a 4 year deal at UAE.

Would think it unlikely that Ineos would be signing Pogacar in the short term. He's tied as Kiddy said to a longish deal at UAE and Ineos already have Carapaz, Bernal and Sivakov as GT leaders for the next few years. Plus Ineos/Sky, whether you like them or not have been brilliant at picking young prospects. They were after Evanepoel but he, probably correctly, decided he could advance his career quicker at DQS

They'll be leaders in the Giro and Vuelta or super-domestiques to support Froome and Thomas in the TdF.

Ineos need top classics riders to win the big one-day races, especially the Monuments. Kwiatowski is wasted as a GT domestique.

Surprised that Adam Yates has been preferred to his brother Simon for the World Championships - https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/geraint-thomas-opts-in-for-world-championships-time-trial-and-road-race/. Simon has been in much better form this season.

"Geraint Thomas has decided to compete in both the elite men's individual time trial and the road race at the upcoming UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, British Cycling has announced."

"The final team for the road race also includes South Yorkshire native Ben Swift, Adam Yates, Owain Doull, Tao Geoghegan Hart and Ian Stannard, with Alex Dowsett joining Thomas for the time trial. Swift will be the team's protected rider in the hope he can use his sprint to target a medal."

Luke Rowe is unlucky to have been omitted too.

Rohan Dennis just annihilated the field today. He caught his 3 minute man. Who was he? Primoz Roglic, just wow

Winner of LaVuelta v 2018 ITT WC who hasn't raced since since 1st week of Le Tour. No contest.

Remco Evenepoel was pretty impressive for a 19 year old.

When you look at Roglic results this season it's impressive. Fairly sure he'd won all but one of the ITTs he'd raced this year
