What year is that roughly?

I'd have a guess at mid. '70's, not long after introduction of VAT in April '73.

My old man used to take me to the Wimpy in Jarnac Court (I think) in Dalkeith. Very exotic for an impressionable wee lad. 😎

A friend of mine is a nurse who has the joy of being one of these folk who go to see dead bodies to confirm they're properly dead, even if they've clearly been dead for weeks (e.g. house reeking of death with the heating left on full blast and eyeballs popped out).

Apparently the only exception to such a visit is a full decapitation, and without that they presume that there's a chance the person is alive, no matter how ridiculous the scenario.
