The private rental market seems brutal with demand vastly outstripping supply. We looked at one house in Dundee that seemed good on the website. When we went to view it we realised it was filthy; beyond just a clean up filthy. The carpets were minging as was the wallpaper; the house needed recarpeting and redecorating and a thorough clean. They were wanting £1,100 a month which we would have paid if it had been in decent nick but it’s a joke asking that for such a place.
