Tick the Scottish taxpayer box and you get this -

It’s because income tax is higher in Scotland. The car goes in some way towards your salary and takes you into the higher band which is more in Scotland than England. It’s not specific to cars.

But I'm already in the higher band? That's quite a difference between England & Scotland.

(I'm hoping the website have it wrong)

Hmm still doesn’t make sense to me. Do me a favour - only because you know the actual numbers you’re working with - and fire them into the HMRC site and see what that throws back at you? To me, Comcar looks like it’s got a glitch somewhere.

Don't want to do the HMRC site in case it changes my details, but I did find this at https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/cars/car-tax-calculator/?OperatingCycleId=16&Manufacturer1Id=10&ModelGroup1Id=84&Derivative1Id=98265

You may be right about the glitch as it looks like it might be under-reporting the English figures.  Unless England is offering incentives due to it being a hybrid.

HMRC won’t harvest your details on an enquiry  site, I’ve used it often!

But I could - maybe - see that ScotGov haven’t quite kept up with UK Gov’s tax incentivisation to get people into low CO2 hybrids.

Whodathunkit?

ETA:is that cos they actually want us all on public transport and bikes?

Just read this article. It would appear that a certain 3 letter word has been hijacked...or hijilled.

Disparate examples demarcating *** culture: a list

  • ALWAYS supporting your female friends – especially if they have been wronged by a man
  • Drinking prosecco
  • Dressing up (with heels) to go to any event – even if it is sitting in a park
  • Loving Starbucks but not drinking coffee (Yes, this is possible)
  • Loving Nights In As Much As Nights Out
  • Living, laughing, and also loving
  • Eating Chinese takeaways in front of the TV
  • Every woman on every British soap
  • Most reality TV stars
  • Echo Falls wine
  • Sugary cocktails – Pornstar Martinis in particular
  • Enthusiasm
  • Being extra
  • Being camp
  • Being a bit basic
  • Taking Instagram shoots before going out
  • Noughties pop
  • Greggs
  • Rebekah Vardy suing Coleen Rooney for libel
  • Jeans and a nice top

Will they now find it more offensive or less?

Had one of the more bizarre business debates earlier where according to a colleague, lemon yellow means "yellow with green".

Am I in the wrong for calling bullshit on this seeing as lemon yellow is just, well... as yellow as yellow gets?!
