The man, who is in his 80s, was about to tuck into his dinner when he became irritated by a fly buzzing around him. He picked up an electric racket designed to kill bugs and start swatting at it - but a gas canister was leaking in his Dordogne home. A reaction between the racket and the gas caused an explosion, destroying the kitchen and partly damaging the roof of the home in Parcoul-Chenaud village. According to local media, the unnamed man had a lucky escape, sustaining just a burn to the hand. However, the fate of the fly is not known, news outlet Sud-Ouest notes . On further investigation it appears to be some weird conspiracy that he's a nonce who groomed a 13 year American girl, several years back on social media. This would be the same Alex Turner who is completely against social media (good cover story I suppose, if you want to nonce kids online). The girl had an active blog years back discussing mental health issues and a 'relationship' she was in with a band member, who she didn't actually meet in person but believes she was communicating with via a third party who was known to the band. Several 'sources' are now saying this is Tuner without any evidence whatsoever, not that that matters on the internet. A bit of reading links it all back to some guy who runs an Arctic Monkeys fan page in America who is being named as the third party. Several women outing him as a creep and it seems to be going in the direction that he was pretending to be Turner, to groom this girl. It makes for some very bizarre reading. Campfire smoke is one of my favourite smells. Wildfire smoke, not so much. Mobile phone and zoomed in, so not great quality but these were all taken in my neighbourhood earlier today.
