En route to Dumfries for work this morning, (lift to station then 2 trains), got a phone call to tell me meetings cancelled because people couldn't get there - bad weather, you see. Slainthe from the Robert the Bruce.

If I was still in Dumfries could have popped over the road to join you, but I'm not.

How ever did you manage to get out? Huskies? Skidoo?

No! Moved to Glasgow about 8 years ago.

Take it it's pretty bad down there?

My mother is thinking of getting bus from Dumfries to Hamilton tomorrow for a family thing.

There's  bit of slush and ice on pavements. Trains fine. The access problem seemed to be the M74. My work for tomorrow is also cancelled but I'm already here in a B&B.

Lazy feckin' binmen didn't lift our bins today.

Couldn't get along the street - crap. If cars can get out then a massive heavy bin lorry can get along.

Might help if Amey gritted side streets in Cumbernauld.

Our bin man broke his arm slipping on the ice last cold spell.

The  steak sizzler with ginger and spring onion at the Pearl Palace is highly recommended.

Sounds a bit naff?

Oh well, make the most of it.
