Derry Alli
First off, not my photo. Got these in Sainsburys for 49p as they were OOD tomorrow. Have to admit, they were lovely.
Eednud
Breaking my fast, had to get blood test, with The Big Breakfast plus a pot of tea. Great grilled smoky bacon, spicy chorizo, poached eggs, toast, grilled tomato, mushrooms, haloumi and rabbit food garnish. No bad.
Paul Kersey
I'm on holiday in London right now. Wherever I go I always try the local cuisine. So I went for some Pie, Mash and Liquor with a side order of Jellied Eels. I went to F Cooke, a proper old school place with white tiles on the walls and sawdust on the floor. The pies were alright, though not as good as a pie from most butchers or bakeries in Scotland. The eels weren't as rank as I thought they would be. Really just fish, but with a slightly tough texture. Edited February 4, 2022 by Paul Kersey
Miguel Sanchez
The eels look like the ceiling's crumbling away and part broke off and fell in a bowl.

I was working in Preston a couple of years ago. The locals were raving about meat and potato pies from a local bakery. I tried them and they were shite. Horrible short crust pastry, slimy mashed potatoes and a tiny sliver of meat.
Bairnardo
Just stuck a bbq dry rubbed brisket into the sous vide, where it shall remain at 68 degC until tomorrow night.

The Manze in Tower Bridge is very good, probably my favourite.

I'll never have it again but I'm glad that I tried it.
Bairnardo
Had an unexpectedly excellent dinner lastnight. Raked out out 3 wee tubs of frozen leftover curry sauce from the Gulnar, and found some frozen naan bread dough.... Wee curry buffet, homemade naans and pilau rice. Excellent.

Might be controversial, but I think sous vide meat is absolutely shite. Consistent internal cooking yes, but flavour absolutely nowhere near good enough, unless it’s been cooked prior in some other way or finished in a pan after the sous vide is finished, and even then I’d prefer it wasn’t in the sous vide at all.

Aye it needs to be pan or grill finished for sure and probably for the likes of a steak its pointless. For being able to do stuff for like 36 hours though its the only option. Likes of brisket fir example IMO its the best way
