Growl3th
Much needed BUMP I think. Got a decent lens so went to the preseason game last wed, here's a few from the evening. What lens you got?
Mackie The Staggie
What lens you got? Used a Tamron 70 - 300 f4/5.6, really good lens with decent range. A bit slow with the auto focus but I think thats more to do with my Sony than the lens.

You've got the alpha 200 if I remember?

Mackie The Staggie
I've had mine for over a year now, but have only really started to use it over the past few weeks. It's now with me everyday (often with the standard 18-75mm lens that came with it) in case I come across something, but now look to be doing a lot more in terms of sport photo's, got a welfare game on Wed, preseason game on Thurs and a choice of games on Sat...also took in some Shinty last Sat which I'll add up here later on tonight. Finally starting to get to grips with the camera and now look to move away from the auto settings and start doing it manually to get a more definitive style to my landscapes and portrait photo's. codfish
Took the camera down to Wimbledon this year - first real "project" since buying the Sony Alpha 380. Fairly pleased with the results...

Well heres mine from last Sat from the Shinty in Inverness. For the record Inverness got humped 8-0, hope to see more of the same next season in the SPL 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. codfish
Nice set there Codfish got a few good pics there just a shame some of them are a bit dark. out of intreset what lens did you use? Tough to get the exposure spot on because of the fairly harsh lighting and the fact that the players have to wear white (contrast is a nightmare). Played around with some of the darkest ones and they lift fairly well, so all is not lost. Shot most of them on a Tamron 70-300mm, although was using a 18-55mm Sony lens for some of the wider angle shots. For tennis, the 300mm end is usually too much. Growl3th
Great shots both of you. Now I really need to get that Tamron lens.
Mackie The Staggie
Shinty again, starting to understand it a bit better. A bit different from my other set, gone for tighter cropping, also a bit more of a physical game which meant I got more of these contact shots. I love my new lens...I fear this may get a tad pricey down the line 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Mackie The Staggie
Bump back up. Bored and nothing happening this week so had a quick look over my photos I took last week down at the local pitches. Starting to like the idea of taking action shots but really need to try and get out on up those hills, some stunning photo's just waiting for me there. Problem is I have no insperation nor idea on how to start composing those types of photo's. At least in sport they happen for you. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Mackie The Staggie
Bump back up. So managed to get out last week for the Snowman Rally, had to use the kit lens as my Tammy lens is playing up. Was good to get something different under my bel and will be looking to take in some more rally action when the Elgin and Aberdeen Rallies come around. 1.
