Ro Sham Bo
If Maxwell is left sided he's not really what we're looking for anyway. We really need to be focusing on getting a couple of centre backs, a right back and at least one forward. If we do that and still have budget left then we can look at improving options in other parts of the squad.

Not the most exciting suggestion, but got Jason Naismith got released by Killie and would definitely do a job I remember thinking we would never get another Craig Wilson or another Jason Thomson, now it’s another Tumilty. These guys can all be replaced.

RRFC_Liam
Been reading an article and it says Murray is looking to trim the squad and we had 29 players on the books last season, I never knew it was that much, it will be interesting to see who he gets rid of because Dave McKay has already left, same as Bene and looks likely both RT and Frankie are away BRS away, Spencer is likely to stay. so will he get rid of some of the younger players? Like Mahady, Bow, Masson etc or will it be like the more experienced like a Zanatta Gullan etc who he might deem not good enough

Same with Ross unless we recouped some finances. I'd be ok with Zanatta or Connolly going. I would like Arnott, Mitchell and Young to be retained and blended into the squad with plenty of game time.

We had at one point - technically - 6 strikers on the books (not including he who sall not be named): Varian, Poplatnik, Gullan, Vaughan, Keatings, Mahady. Two were out on loan with no future at the club, one was injured with his ACL, and another kept getting injured. It's fair to say there probably was a bit of bloating in the squad. Now we’re down to 2 strikers, 1 fit CH 1 senior LB, a packed midfield/wingers, a lot more work in the defensive areas need done and like previously mentioned at least 1 or 2 strikers to come, so by trimming the squad/bringing in players he will be looking at what a 21/22 man squad in total
Enigma
I think the likes of Coulson and Mahady probably are a bit surplus to requirements now and most likely won’t be good enough. It is probably mutually beneficial if they can find a club who will play them. I’m not sure there are any senior players we could afford to prune ourselves of, but Zanatta would be a player I’d probably look to move on.

Two CBs would see us running with 4 in the squad, one down from last year. 6 man defence with the ability to slot Scott Brown into a full back position if needed. Gullan and A.N.Other as a number 9 would be ok with Easton, Ross and Vaughan avaiallbe as a second striker/No 10 as needed. We ran with a smaller squad in 20/21 - it's just that the quality of the Summer signings last season were uneven enough to require constant tinkering as the season wore on. Same reason relegated teams always have the biggest squads.
Ro Sham Bo
I've not read the article but he's certainly not trimming the midfield. Also, getting rid of Connolly as someone suggested would be a horrendous decision.
Popular Post Hank Scorpio
“OK with Connolly going”. What the actual f**k do folk watch every week?! Scored or assisted 13 goals last season from wide, after being inexplicably left out the side for a large portion of the season, and won POTY. One of the worst shouts I’ve seen on here for a long time, and that’s really saying something.
RRFC_Liam
Now you’ve got the social media club accountants saying this trimming the squad will be because he needs a bigger budget, we don’t know exactly what the budget is apart from the rumours flying about….. but we have 21 players under contract likely to be 22 if/when Spencer signs 7 of those under contract are youngsters unless he’s looking to shift 5 of them for the 3 defenders plus another striker it makes sense maybe one of the first teamers might move on if we get a good price for a Ross or someone pays a fee for a Zanatta or a Stanton (these are just examples btw)

Cowden were happy enough to keep giving him game time, but a winger is never going to thrive in a team that's getting gubbed every week. A loan out to a team at the top end of the Lowland League might give him a better platform. Mahady being dropped down to the Shippy halfway through the season isn't a great sign. I don't know how he got on there, but unless he was banging in hat-tricks I'm not convinced he'll be in a position to offer anything at Championship level any time soon.
SirJimmyofNic
Lang and more so Vaughan will need to be brought on gradually after their recovery, as much as it pains me to say there is no guarantee that Vaughan wont break down again, Berra cant be relied upon every week, mind you there's no Bene to run into him now so he might make it I reckon at least a RB, 1 or 2 CB, and a striker, with Tumilty, Musonda, BRS gone, I think 2 or 3 of the young guys will be cut so that would be 4 in 5 out, that leaves a squad of around 22 Edited June 9 by SirJimmyofNic

Don’t want Connolly to leave, very consistent player for us, zanatta maybe but keep Aiden

If we're trimming any area of the squad, it'll be the younger lads.
