A four year deal is not something that Hibs are dishing out for someone they’ve signed on a whim. Clearly it’s someone they really wanted and rate highly.

John Sim or a member of the board are going to need to sit down and explain why this is a good deal for the club. The reported fee isn’t nearly enough for a player with three years on his contract, and it is to the public knowledge the very first offer we’ve had for Tait.

If they hide behind ‘undisclosed fee’ permanently it’s safe to assume the £100k figure is accurate. The Bowie fee was officially undisclosed but it wasn’t really kept secret around Stark’s Park that it was £150k up front.

Honest to God, would love to see the pre-nup Mrs Sim managed to negotiate off her husband. 

Probably owns all his stuff and the fillings in his mouth.

This certainly merits a lot more than just the usual "we wish Dylan well" etc. There needs to be a statement to justify why this deal, and why now. 

It doesn't need to necessarily be a terrible deal. If, for example, it's £100k up front, a considerable sell-on, and Gullan on loan with minimal outlay on wages and an option to "buy" in January, I could see why that'd be attractive. 

But whatever it is, there needs to be a justification. The club has to explain why we've sold a player who had three years on a deal at - as far as we're aware - the first time of asking, to the first bidder.

What a shambles, no better than Eric Drysdale, a pittance for a player of his potential, who the hell can we get to replace him, so pissed off at this, can't wait to see some justification for this "deal", that's my monthly subs getting cancelled

I've lost all enthusiasm for the game on Saturday.

Losing Tait for such a relatively small fee would be hard to take in isolation.

Then add the fact we lost Hendry in the summer.
Then add the fact Spencer is out for a while yet.
Then add the fact Vaughan won’t kick a ball for us this season (if ever).
Then add the fact it’s happened right at the end of the window leaving no time to replace him.

Unnecessarily weakening an area of the team which has already been decimated by previous player sales and injury since the end of last season is utter madness.

If Tait had been out of contract and signed for Hibs this summer we'd have probably been awarded more than we've now sold him for when he has 3 years left. You actually couldn't make it up!

I'm actually waiting on them pushing out a reason of medical bills here as well.

Aye, and we've got Matthews playing through an injury and would just be our luck if he pulls up.

Paul McCabe on Twitter saying his sources at Rovers don’t know where this 100k figure has come from.  Doubt we’ve gotten much more tbh and if the sell on clause is only 5% then we have messed this up big time.

What you need to ask is why has the fee been declared as undisclosed. That means one side didn't want it public and I highly doubt that's Hibs.
