Now we have Porters the obvious next step is a Concierge to welcome us to Starks Park. That would be a nice touch for the Main Stand. He can maybe hang about by that grotty toilet near the window where they give out the comps.

Maybe a well known presenter/author could sponsor these cabins.  The Janet Street-Porter Cabins has a nice ring to it.

Has there been an announcement about improvements at the stadium?

It's pathetic considering his clubs fans did the exact same thing in starting up a page to contribute to. If that was the one he left...

Nothing official.

There has been a few improvements so far but nothing breath takingly major although having said that, there has been a right few contractors in.

The damaged brickwork above one of the main exit gates in the south stand has been broken down and rebuilt.

The busted seat supports have been removed from the front of the North stand and contractors are coming in to install brand new seating in that area. That'll give us over 4000 seats fro accommodate the masses that will undoubtably come from Eastend and Gorgie.

I believe there are also lots of changes being made inside the main stand but I doubt it's anything that us riff-raff see without a guided tour.

I remember from previous Q&A's there being talk of big money being spent on new hospitality and community use dressing rooms where the original R/way stand is, I cant see that being done soon but apparently the owner has architects working on plans so he is keen to do it eventually.

Working on the stadium, which may not see fans for a while yet depending on how things go, definitely seems like our big priority right now.

Unless the maintenance is essential, it should be at the back of the list currently, quite frankly.

Most of the ground has seen little maintenance for some years so lots of things need doing. John Sim has made some money available & volunteers are doing painting, cleaning & a general tidy up. Pop down to Stark's if you can spare a couple of hours.

Not a smart choice, it needs to be on the list. The use of volunteers to try to spruce things up for minimal investments is an excellent way to find what is wrong and needs fixing now before it gets much more difficult or expensive. Deferring maintenance is the path to crippling expenses that many clubs have followed.

There is the argument about the volunteers are helping SPP vs RR, but the reality is the two are intertwined and reliant upon each other. The good news is the funding in this case appears to be from SPP, but will end up benefitting RR if it improves the match day experience, and thus potentially increases crowds down the road.

Pennywise and pound foolish has been a popular aphorism for a long time for a reason.
