It doesn’t matter who comes in, it’s the same old situation. Season after season we contrive to lose away from home. McGlynn should’ve done away with Bene and Davo when he had the chance. He didn’t replace Buchanan and Nisbet either. We’re relying on two kids and Allan.

We have no problems scoring goals.

We have no problems scoring goals.

Letting them in just as much defeats the purpose

He will be under pressure, and rightly so, should we continue in today's manner. The way in which that game was lost echoes so many from last season which is incredibly frustrating.

However, 6 from 9 is not the kind of form that should get a manager sacked after 3 games. The way in which the players react to this is the vital part.

For whatever reason, conceding goals remains the issue. The more things that change with no improvement, the more pressure goes to the manager. Whilst I don't think Benedictus and Davidson have been by any means poor this season, when a team is leaking goals every single week, and have been for about 18 months, then it's incredibly difficult not have suspicions over an unchanged centre back pairing.

Something has to change somewhere to stop conceding goals. We've lost Nisbet, but look like we can adequately cover a decent goals for total throughout the team. But the pressure is massively on now as to how they are kept out. Mcgurn will help, but we can't rely on wonder saves.

However, its likely that regardless of what happens, McGlynn will only ever be one bad result away from fans demanding he goes. There are a proportion of fans who are desperate for him to fail.

The thing is, we don’t want him to fail. We just need him to address the problems. If it means going cap in hand to the board for a little more money to strengthen the defence and recognised striker would definitely be a start. Then we’ll see how competitive Davo and Bene are to get back in the team. Mendy was a mistake and thankfully hasn’t been utilised this far.

There hasn't been a peep about wanting Mcglynn gone for over a fortnight, then within 30 mins of the first league defeat the shouts for him to go start tbf.

Mendy should be given the chance to recover from his concussion before the final verdict is cast, although the initial signs were worrying at best.

McGlynn should be given the opportunity to bring in loan players, and see how we look with Vaughan in the team. If we still see the same failings at the end of Q1, then it may be time to act.  That would still give enough time for someone to develop a playoff winning side which, like it or not, is the realistic aim for the season

6 from 9 maybe isn't, but being pumped out of the cup by the might of Cove is.

Cove did not put us out of the cup.

No one wants McGlynn to fail, all anyone whats is him to fix whats been glaringly obvious for the past 12-16 months n thats the inability to defend properly. Davo and Bene can't play well together with the latter being a total week link can't win a header panics when players run at him.

We play some excellent stuff at times but then shoot our selfs in the foot by just not doing basics, getting goal side of a man, pressing, closing down just winning a clean header. We have only managed kept a clean sheet in the Dumbarton game but ad say that was more down to Dumbarton being poor than us being solid.

3 against Dundee

4 against Inverness

1 against Peterhead

3 against Cove

2 against  Clyde

3 against Stranraer

No way we can properly challange till its sorted out.

Some might see the fact that McGlynn hasn,t fixed our frailties makes him a failure?
He's signed macdonald who is an improvement at lb, he's signed Miller who is an actual rb and he's signed mendy who has made mistakes while he had a concussion but actually looked decent pre season. It's too early for this nicker wetting and writing players off. We still have Vaughan and Dingwall to come back which will make a massive difference.

We've played 3 and won 2. Keep that going and we will end up with around 72 points come the end of the season which will be enough for a top four finish, which is realistically our goal this season.

First quarter is a fair barometer. We've had a mixed bag already in the league. A hard fought win, a comfortable win, and a close defeat.

The next few games will give us a much more accurate picture as to whether we really have improved or not. If we are still saying these same things in Oct, that's a different story.

Disappointed but far from shocked at result. Hopefully a blip but considering the away form of last two or three seasons, I doubt it.

On a different note, just read that Livi made their 1st trip to Station Park for 8 years today when both were in the 4th tier (and we had just finished 2nd in Championship). Depressing that they are in their 2nd season in premier league now while we are establishing ourselves as a solid league two outfit.

Some of the stuff on here is beyond belief!!

Here's one for the more extreme knicker wetters... most of whom were NOT at the game. .....

When we sack McGlynn ( not that he remotely deserves it) where does the money come from to pay him off, PLUS where do we get the money (not that we have any) for a replacement Manager...and who would do a better job than John McGlynn?

Nobody is questioning McDonald or Miller, its the central defensive partnership thats coming under scrutiny by some. For the record,Davidson was excellent against Clyde.Mendy,as you say looked semi decent pre season but time will  tell regards him Vaughan and Dingwall coming back doesnt fix our shipping of goals

I agree a top four finish is our goal and should be realistic

They are an example of where he has fixed our frailties which is why I chucked them in. From what iv seen of them so far far both davo and bene have actually been playing better this season. They both still have mistakes in them. What strikes me though is we don't really have the defenders or even midfielders who are chucking their body's in front of everything which was a big part in why mcglynn was a success in the past.

Just thought I'd throw this out there:

Last season.                                 Points          This season.                               Points

Stranraer away               1-1     1pt .                Dumbarton away        0-1       3pt.

Stenhousemuir home  2-0       4pt.                Clyde  home.                 5-2        6pt

East Fife.  home.            2-2 .      5pt.                Stranraer away.           3-2.       6pt

Airdrie   away                 3-4 .       8pt                 Montrose  home

Forfar   home                 4-0        11pt.                East Fife  away

The manager parts company with the Rovers after 5 league games and joint top.

Wonder what will happen this season after 5 league games ?
