Miller in the first half, Watson in the second.

Cheers. I was pleased when we signed Miller, but I was growing a little concerned that McGlynn was using him in midfield instead. Very happy to hear he used proper fullbacks for the full 90 tonight.

Could be a worry if macdonald picks up an injury but other than lb were pretty well covered everywhere else.

Shame if that's true left back seemed handy.

Better than McDonald?

McDonald hasn't convinced me going forward to be honest. The way the team has been set out throughout the friendlies looks like we are expecting the full backs to push on and the lad only made a 20 min appearance about seemed quicker and more willing to overlap and deliver crosses. Don't get me wrong I actually prefer McDonald to Crane as he was suspect going forward and at the back where as McDonald at least looks to be positionally aware and able to tackle.

As it is friendlies I don't have to wait until midnight to post the highlights, so here you go. Also, the Saturday game highlights will be up on Sunday afternoon.

Didn't see him doing much defending, because of the stage of the game and us being on top, but he was quick, always looking to overlap and if anything, too keen to do so. Possibly left his position exposed by pushing on so much. But I wish we'd seen him earlier. Definitely promising and as someone has already said, LB is a position we don't have a lot of cover for.

apparently despite being a centre mid, Miller can play both right and left back if required

I had it in my head that Faissal El Bakhtaoui  was a really tall lad, according to the web he's only 5'10". I though we'd be looking for a bigger guy as a target man but hey, if he can find the net (something he's not been too good at since his 1st spell at the dark side).
Not wanting to compare every guy that comes in to Nisbet who was 6'1" but...

According to the net, Allen is 6’ 2”. I think because he’s a stocky unit, opposed to lean unit in Nisbet, he appears shorter.

That's absolutely, unequivocally not Faiss. If nothing else I think he's still in France.

Oh and he's probably not a left back, after his last spell though I don't know if he's a striker either.

We’ve covered all this.

Thanks for stopping by though.

I like McDonald but he does have a tendency stop the play and pass the ball back. Just a wee bit too often for my liking. Sometimes it looks like he'd rather not pass to Victoria. Mildly infuriating but he's better than every left back we've had for the last couple of seasons.

The trialist looked handy at left back but as others have said, would have liked to see more of him.

I just watched your highlights, and your number 3 and 14 looked a handful for Cowdenbeath, and the lad that scored tryout first goal looks sharp too.

Looking like a decent team you’re assembling there guys.

Out of everyone who’s played full back for us in the four friendlies to date, I’d say MacDonald has offered far more going forward than any of the three right sided full backs we’ve started.

His crossing might be a bit and miss, but he’s provided an outlet at least.

I'd agree with that. If he gets injured for any period of time we will struggle.
