Agreed. We shouldn't even be considering Hartley, although he does have form for gaining promotion from league 1. That could yet come in handy.

Why on earth should we not considering Hartley? He is a former player who had an impressive managerial record until Dundee's recent loss of form. I would be more than happy to for him to be our next manager.

The only thing I think is off putting about Hartley was when he was at Alloa and just decided to chuck it after they were spanked. A real life rage quit.

Still too early to plan for next season, although recently unattached managers are always likely to raise eyebrows to a club in our position.

I don't think his record is that impressive really.

After Locke I would rather we stay clear of failed premier league managers.

He has won promotion from all the lower leagues and finished 6th and 8th in the previous two premier league seasons. Lost his two star players at the start of the season and as is the way in Scotland had no funds to bring in adequate replacements.

If you ask me he's done well to have Dundee 5 points above bottom this season considering his squad is so bad that even Craig Wighton manages to get a game most weeks.

Hartley's been a manager for 6yrs

• won SFL3
• won SFL2 Play-Off's
• won Ch'ship
• top 6 finish
• led Dundee side that relegated Dundee Utd

I would say that's a pretty decent record in just 6 years tbf.

Also lost his last 7 matches and publicity admitted he doesn't know how to turn it around.

That record looks good but given the clubs involved I don't think it's much of an achievement really.

He would also eat us out of business.

Skacel suspended for Hibs game. Handling no doubt can't play against Hibs as well.

Gets him out of having to do the tribute to the champions. Hibs fan won't be happy. Shame. I reckoned he might have scored the winner

They definitely can't "just let him play".

I think Raith25 was talking about Harding not Skacel, I think Hibs can allow Harding to play if they choose.

It's certainly better than

- relegated Hearts
- nearly relegated Kilmarnock then left
- took Rovers into a relegation fight
- trying to stop Cowdenbeath being relegated
