Great hour long interview with McGlynn is up on the official site

A whole hour! It better be bloody interesting. Does John get his porn collection out? What did they talk about for a whole hour?

Listening now....Ah! It's a This is Your Life type interview. John starts from his playing career through to the current time with Rovers. I'll come back to it.

Jesus, I wasn'y trying to criticise Rovers! I just found it odd that you were charging fans more for 1st division football than we were for the SPL.

Only you & your fellow tax dodging students POTM ;)

Faintly concerned that McGlynn's off on his holidays, Davidson is just back from his holidays and still no news.

From the Fife Free Press:

McGlynn said, "There's a good core of last season's team returning and I've got a few irons in the fire."

McGlynn departs the country for a two week break in America this Saturday, but he has more business to conclude.

"I'm looking to bring in one more striker, and I need to fill in the gaps in midfield," he said.

"It's a difficult time now with managers and players going on holiday, but if I've still got one or two players to sign when I come back, I can handle that."

McGlynn has not yet given up hope of re-signing Davidson, but admitted the player could be destined for bigger things.

Oh well. That's my evening ruined.

Could be better for our style of play if he does go.

We all know that the strikers we have at the moment hardly lend themselves to working the channels so the need for 2 ball-winning midfielders diminishes. Now; combining Walker with, say, Hammil might give us more of a thoughtful combination in the engine house rather than simply winning the ball and punting it wide. Combine this with the potential of overlapping fullbacks and this negates completely our strikers need to go rushing to the corner flag in pursuit of the ball.

It's just a thought but McGlynn with his signings seems to be working towards this and if we are to progress it's a move we need to make.

I always felt we needed one of Walker or Davo to re-sign and the other to move on for our midfield to break from the merely hardworking but limited.
