If another company was to contact you and offered you more money for doing the same job are you going to tell them to piss off out of some weird loyalty to your current employer? Of course you're not, you'll at the very least hear what they have to offer. Murray and any other footballer/manager is the exact same. They have bills to pay just like everybody else, and if they can make more money somewhere else then at the very least they're going to look at their options. I’d forgotten all about him tbh. I’m not sure what his official connection was to the club. Was he actually employed by us or was he a freelance scout that Murray just liked to use? He left Airdrie after being a penalty kick away from a shootout to take them up. There's zero difference between Murray leaving Airdrie for us, compared to leaving us for Dundee. He won't have walked through the door and been hit by some Barcelona 'Mes Que Un Club' nonsense. Dundee will likely have represented a better wage - after he left St Mirren it took him three years to get another management job back in the game and he had to move to Norway. He'll be fully aware how fickle football can be. As for ourselves, everybody knows that you go to our level of football and that it'll likely be dross. The standard can be terrible, with the occasional moment of brilliance. But when it goes correctly, it's absolutely unbelievable. There's a self-congratulatory nature about top flight clubs who win titles when the reality is that they've pissed a league with a budget which is completely untouchable. I go to games because you'll get days like Motherwell where the South Stand is bouncing. Or when you see journey's like Lewis Vaughan coming back from a 4th ACL injury. It's getting to know people whether they work at the club, sit near you, or people you meet on here or on twitter. It's seeing someone you see at away days on the occasional weekend becoming a director at the club. There's a connection in there that's worth it's weight in gold.
