Got up the park pretty well I thought, especially to pick out Easton in the box 2nd half.

Best outfield player for my money.

He's fine getting up the park. give him the ball and he stalls, I don't know if it's instructions or he gets a nose bleed, either way it's frustrating to watch.

Hopefully he doesn't

Why's that? Hard to get a better player at this level that can do the role he does.

We weren't creating the space for him to whip them across tonight. It's one of his poorer games in recent times but he will be absolutely shattered having just become a father on Thursday iirc. I hated him the first few games and after the Inverness shambles but he's definitely a good signing.

f**k off, his partner did all the work, he may be fatigued if she let go of the gas and air and he swiped a couple of snorts.

Don't underestimate how hard it is to get that off of someone in that position! Or how good it is...

Build the team around Scott Brown please Murray.  Great player, can't believe he was jobbing around League 1 with Peterhead ffs.

100% this. we haven't actually missed Matthews this season just due to how fucking good brown is.

I guess we finally know the cost to the club of ending the DG saga. The club accounts filed with companies house earlier this week detail a provision of just over £100k taken in respect to the termination of a player's employment....

Does that include the amount paid to Clyde, and the wages paid to Goodwillie while he was at the club?

So much money to then cause so much grief.

During lockdown everyone made impulse buys, for some it was easy to justify upgrading your power tool collection.

At least that Dremel would become useful sometime, alas...

I doubt it. The way it’s phrased is that is the termination payment, so he likely got his wages until then and Clyde got their cash too.

I also thought he was good last night. The progress he's made this season has been a real bonus and he's made a good few of us, including myself, look foolish. After being raging that Murray offered him a two year deal it now looks a very good piece of business.

Agree with this too. A great player and great captain.

The other outfield player who impressed last night was Nolan. He's really stepped up since he got back in the team and looks worth a new deal.

Agree with what folk are saying here. I don’t think the squad is far away from a challenge at the top end. If we can keep the core of the squad and add a few bits of quality here and there I think we’d have a chance. Fully understand that about half the league will be saying the same thing, however. Keeping Connolly, Spencer, Nolan, Lang and probably Dick would just about do me, although of conscious of the fact that those 5 coupled with the already contracted Millen, Gullan, Brown, Vaughan, Ethan Ross, Easton, Stanton and Matthews is basically the exact same team that just draws every single week just now, so maybe not.

A fit Ross as an option off the bench is better than anything we've been bringing on to be fair...

Seems to have been out injured forever and was woefully out of form prior to that - probably due to playing with an injury. I’d love to see a fit and flying Ethan Ross again but I fear it won’t happen until next season, if at all. I dread to think the wage he’s on, too.

I think we played really well last night, the only issue came in the final third with a number of bad decisions and woeful shots.

The elephant in the room for me is that we don’t seem to be any further forward with our striking options. Isma looks miles off it, Akio is a buzz bomb but without any real quality and to top it off, I’m hearing Gullan is out for the season. I’m not sure how far away Vaughan is but our front line certainly hasn’t been strengthened like it needed to be.

Not that it makes good reading whichever way you spin it, but that £105,000 termination figure probably includes James Keatings as well as Goodwillie.

It certainly sounded from Murray's pre-match interview that Gullan was going to need to see a specialist so I'm not expecting him back soon. Vaughan doesn't sound too far away and would hope he's back in a couple of weeks at most. The problem with him is you would be foolish to think he will stay injury free for the rest of the season.

Which leaves us relying on Akio and Isma more than we would like. You can see Isma has quality in his locker but he just doesn't offer the running of Gullan or Akio so we need to change our style of play a bit to get the best out of him. His woeful decision making last night didn't do him any favours either. Akio is the opposite. Plenty of running and willingness but very raw with not a lot of obvious quality.

It's headed up as a provision so is dealing with costs not incurred at the balance sheet date. I would've thought that Keatings would've been dealt with by then.

It's painful either way, really.

This is right. Keatings had already gone and Goodwillie's departure was in the current financial year, so it's him alone.

Was on the group chat this week, lads talking about the perfect draft machines they bought for a ton and have barely been looked at since.

Raith would've been better just buying a thousand of this and having them on every second seat IMO.
