Who knows but by being slow he let one get away, sick of his recruiting style already

I get it, I do.

With Paterson being ex-Celtic you never know if Murray was put off by wage demands for the output he expected to get. It's one thing wanting to sign, but his relative worth might have made the deal less attractive. It's hard to be sure.

Murray's signing style is treading that fine line between trying to get the right bodies in vs. Jim Duffy's casual fuckit attitude he had at Dumbarton. I do think there is a deliberate attempt to re-fashion Dick as a more a specialist CB. I don't think he wants someone who will defend an 18 yard line exclusively. He wants agressive ball players across the park, and Dick amybe falls into the category of not good enoguh with the ball to be a modern LB, but better with it than a lot of CBs.

For all i've been bumping my gums about it, two of our long serving Centre Backs were converted from other positions: Davidson was obviously a centre-mid and grant Murray came to us chiefly as a right back/ midfielder.

So maybe there is method in the madness.

Maybe but this transition period is hard at the moment, I’m starting to think Tx rover has joined the coaching team with dick as a cb😜

We haven't played a single league game yet.

If we go the first three games of the season without picking up a single point and Murray is still struggling to bring players in then I could understand being upset.  But people seem to be getting really angry and upset because of what might happen.

Would I have preferred us to have our squad set by now, obviously.  But I'm going to wait to see how the first few games of the league go before I get overly concerned about it.

Because we didn’t get out of a group in the cup we should have and queens who we would have replaced got a money spinning tie v rangers , that’s why folk are pissed off plus the snail pace recruitment and on the face of it strange recruitment so far

I see you have put in a 5 figure bid for Lee Ashcroft this week.  We rejected it though.

Nah, I'm not having that.

There's no way Eric Drysdale rejected a five figure bid for anyone.

He doesn't like standing in laddies' way.

Perhaps you’re suggesting he likes to stand behind laddies…

What was Liam Dick’s position when he played for Alloa. As I remember he was working like a muthafucka for that team. Are we still to see the best of him, or has he always played out of position? Genuine question btw👍

Dream scenario for you Tx 😜

Nah, I’d rather see us develop Young, for ourselves, rather than some lad from Aberdeen. Now, if we can toss Masson in at CB, with Dick, and then play Brown at DM, we’re talking!👍🏼

Some quotes and my thoughts on them.

"We haven't played a single league game yet.  If we go the first three games of the season without picking up a single point and Murray is still struggling to bring players in then I could understand being upset

No we haven't but we've been held by two lower league sides that I'm sure a Raith side of the last 3 seasons would have dispatched. That we don't start the league campaign well is my main worry, but why shouldn't supporter be upset with the fact that we couldn't get out of an easy group and picked up a cash tie against Rangers?  Reason enough to be annoyed in my book.

"We all know, Murray included, that we're short on centre-halves, more so this week than last, but I genuinely cannot think of a single one who is available in Scotland that I'd like to see here."

Yet this isn't news is it? This has been the case since he came into the job 65 days ago, true it has been exacerbated by the retirement of Berra but IM has had over 2 months to do something about it and as I type we are NOW less than 48 hours from the opening league fixture.  The fact that CH's are a rare commodity in this country make it even more ludicrous that we now allowed FOUR of the 5 who played last season to slip away.

Now before some knob jumps in with the apparent fav phrase of the moment "knicker wetting" Surely a better question is how can any supporter of the Rovers not be concerned? Even if Murray signs two central defenders and a striker today they will be complete strangers to their teammates up at the Balmoral Stadium. God how I wish we'd kept Musonda and McKay.

From his interview it sounds like we have indeed signed these other players. May be some paperwork being organised in the background but we may still have an update this evening or I'd expect tomorrow morning at the latest.

My trust is still with him and I am personally glad he hasn't panic signed, bringing players he has obviously accessed himself.
