Johnny had a floor covering business and his son was Brian who latter ran the business when Johnny passed, Brian was a big rovers fan who was a regular at the novar but suddenly passed away a few year ago

I reckon despite how irrelevant you think Dunfermline fans opinions are, you'll find them to be startlingly accurate.

Football fans are fickle creatures, if Dunfermline fans were saying he was decent seven years ago you'd have Raith fans hanging there hat on that. Likewise if Killie fans said he was decent those opinions would be held as fact.

As it is he's pish, its not like he's racked up a huge amount of games since he's left Dunfermline, he scudded about the lower tiers before some nepotism got him a move, one he got a regular run of games at that level he was miles out of his depth.

Tbf you all laughed when we signed big Gozie and he was nowhere near as bad as made out

Gozie was far, far better than Millen, had talent just looked like he couldn't be arsed.

I know nothing about millen and don’t really remember him playing for you lot, will soon see how he does and one thing is for certain the south stand will let him know if they don’t rate him

It won't take you long to let him know.

If the last few years have shown anything, it's that if you have two CB slots, play two CBs in there. If it's three CB slots, play three CBs.

It's a specialist position. Anything else is courting an absolute shoeing.

There is the odd exceptional case but in general, when a coach says "he can play anywhere across a back 4" that the coach really means: "in an emergency he might be ok playing CB for 20 minutes without fucking it up, but we'll be backs to wall and f**k knows we hope it doesn't happen"

True, but Dick seems miscast as a LB, perhaps he IS a CB.

Being sad a quick search says I didn't think Gozie was that bad.

Gozie wasn't bad, was a bit lazy but he had ability, he doesn't seem to stay long at many clubs.

Even if a few of the players you've brought in turn out to be duds I still wouldn't have Rovers anywhere near the relegation question tbh, teams like QoTS, Morton and Alloa certainly seem worse off at this stage.

There will always be examples of bitter ex fans proclaiming players to be shite, and there's always a chance a player can improve, but I'm pretty confident in saying that's not the case here. It's pretty bizarre because from what little I seen of Airdrie it seemed like Murray wanted to have ballers at the back. Can only imagine you're going of the reverse of last year and having a rampaging left back, and a right back that's terrified of running with the ball.

Dan came from Cupar and was a couple of years or so behind me at Bell Baxter. He had a big brother called Findlay, better known as Fin,(I think now deceased) who played with Newburgh Juniors and then signed for Rangers. He didn't make the breakthrough there though. I'm fairly sure Fin was in the same cricket 1st eleven with George Lyall, if you want a Rovers connection.🙂

Dan is back row last on right. This is first XI Bell Baxter team 1969-70.

Millen is certainly an uninspiring signing on the face of it and his record of back to back relegations isn't a great omen.

However, I'm struggling to think of any available right backs in our ball park that we could've signed that would be classed as anything other than uninspiring.

Difficult to get too up or down about it until we see how Murray intends to utilise him.

Millen is pretty underwhelming but I’d probably rather we push the boat out to sign quality centre backs and a number 9 and settle for an average right back if it’s one of those situations.
