D'Jaffo
f**k off you w****r. Don't get all bitter because I've called you on your obvious virtue signalling. I haven't once passed any comment on the actual signing, only commenting on the hysteria. So dry your eyes, and once more...f**k offPity you don’t get this worked up about your club employing a rapist. Instead you’d rather have a go at people calling you out for being a wrong’un. Enjoy applauding a rapist mate.
jamamafegan
Just had a look at the Facebook and Twitter comments and I’m genuinely blown away by the amount of Raith fans who are pleased with this signing/happy to ignore the fact he’s a rapist. Feel very sorry for all the right minded Raith fans tonight.

Over 20 witnesses, plus medical and forensic witnesses, testified to her being extremely drunk and unable to walk when Robertson and Goodwillie bundled her into a taxi and took her to a house to rape her. Neither of them denied that and simply said she'd agreed to it earlier in the night. David Goodwillies response to it all years later was to moan about how shit a car he has to drive about in now because he couldn't get a full time club. Anyone who defends him or this signing is absolute fucking scum.

Benjamin_Nevis
@Terry_Tibbs is a thick, edgelord troll, as anyone witnessing his output elsewhere on this site will attest. However it is surely no coincidence that the handful of Rovers fans on here who are trying to downplay this are all barely literate c***s.
Highland Capital
Oh Tade.Oh so according to Tade, Goodwillie is guilty then. Let’s be honest here - a lot of football fans are absolute morons who will defend their club and their players to the hilt. It’s not just the good Raith fans who should be making a decision - it should be the away fans as well and I won’t be attending an ICT away game at Starks Park anytime soon.

Popular Post McGuigan1978
I've been thinking about what to say about this since the news went through, but in all honesty, Raith Against The Machine has summed it up far better than I could. I've not missed too many games over the last 10 years or so since I stopped working weekends, but I think that'll be me for a long, long time. I emailed the club like a lot of people did when the rumour initially reared its ugly head, so the board and presumably John McGlynn had ample warning that this decision would turn away at least a portion of the fans. That they've decided to ignore that says a lot about them, and I genuinely fear that this sets us back a long way, and for what? Sure, we might pick up more fans if we get promoted, so job done in that respect, but if we don't, and we're left with a mid-30's striker on our books who's past his best and our attendances are down 15%, because of him then where does the club go from there? Backwards, presumably. In terms of PR, it's a disaster, no two ways about it, and again, barring promotion, it's got to hit us in the pocket, hard. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my Saturdays now. Cowdenbeath maybe? I've a few stadiums to tick off in that league to complete the 42, so that would be something at least. In all honesty though, I'm upset and angry in equal measures, and dismayed that they've made myself and a lot of other people feel that way.
lichtie23
Community Club my arse! Good to see supporters on here and social media are upset/raging/furious about the signing. Will he be booed by his own support on his debut? I certainly hope so.
Grangemouth Bairn
43 minutes ago, Against The Machine said: Well, that's the final whistle for me. It's been fun. Like everyone else, this football club has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is having my photo taken in my parents' back garden wearing the full "Kelly's Copiers" kit, the one they recently re-released. I loved that shirt. I've been a season ticket holder for somewhere in the region of 20 years. For the last fifteen that's meant a 100 mile round trip for home games. I didn't mind. It was worth it. It's something I do with my Dad. Going to Rovers games. It's a shared passion, and it's nice to feel part of something bigger. Something that carries with it the hopes and dreams of a community. Something that does good for that community too, and uplifts it. Well, it was nice, until tonight. I can't in good conscious go on from here. I thought about it, before when the rumours first emerged, and again today when they resurfaced. Could I just ignore what he did? Could I maybe just sit on my hands, support the other ten players and ignore him? No, I'm afraid I can't. I can't put my name alongside his, or alongside this club. "Who do you support mate? Oh aye, they just signed..." No thank you, not in my name. People seem all too willing to forget that rape isn't some buzzword. The way this conversation gets framed sometimes you'd think it was like that open goal Chris Iwelumo missed. "Oh, don't sign him, he did that thing that one time". He raped a woman. There's a human being who has to live her life in a totally altered state because of the actions of this man. Nobody mentions her much. I hope she's okay tonight, as her rapist's name reverberates around yet again. I can't imagine she is. So from that incredibly significant impact, to an incredibly small one. I'll be logging off. There's no reason for me to post here anymore, a man without a football club. There's not much call for journeymen P&B posters. I expect I'll still lurk from time to time, the draw of lower league football is just too strong, but it won't be the same. I might pop up now and again, like Yoss does. He always was the best Rovers poster on here. And I might pop up at Stark's Park again. Hopefully just once he's gone. Maybe a year or two. But maybe longer. Can I in good faith cheer the manager who signed him? Or the owner who paid his wages? Maybe I'll have a new team by then. Only time will tell. Goodnight everyone. Enjoy your football. One of the best, if not the best, posts I’ve ever read on P&B. Genuinly feel for all the good Raith fans - you deserve better from your club and manager.

mrpaddyx
Having thought about it, the only way the club could save face on this would be to release him straight away, without playing a single game and paying him whatever it takes to go away. Otherwise this is going to escalate into something really bad.

Popular Post Dalgety Rover
Hello everyone, I’ve never posted on here before but have frequently visited the site over the last 6 months and view a lot of Rovers content on Twitter and Facebook. The signing of David Goodwillie circulated every couple of transfer windows and was always laughed off as something that cannot and will not happen. Today that has clearly changed. The signing of a convicted rapist isn't something a community club, a lower league club, a junior club or even a pub team would ever silly themselves with. We have done that. This one has hit me quite bad in particular. As a close friend of a rape victim, that I stayed up with talking and trying to help, in any way possible with the trauma they have had after that night and has had since that they still deal with, makes me feel nauseous. How can we have done this? The Rovers have had a strong community spirit until tonight, all gone for what? The slim possibility of promotion? It’s a ridiculous thing to have done. I’ve always looked at John McGlynn as a good, football man, who always seems to build a good dressing room. How can he let this happen? I’ll be at Stark’s tomorrow with my old Granda, and I can’t see a time that I’ll be back, and it really fucking hurts thinking that, never mind saying it. As a supporter of the club that I’ve supported all my life, this is just..
Beastie Russell
Like every other set of supporters we backed the club through the pandemic, buying season tickets for games we’d never attend. and when we ask the club to do something for us and not sign this guy, they go f**k you, we know best.
