Short article in the Courier. No timeframe given on Frankie, but nothing to suggest it's another medium/long term injury.

If the East Stand had been allowed to be opened up I honestly think you would outnumber our support next week - our crowd as far as actual attendees goes on Saturday was really poor.

They'll surely be back for the derby though?

Didn't come back for the away derby, we also have another game against Partick before that, a skelping in that and people aren't going to care about a draw against Killie.

Are Dunfermline going to give us more tickets? There’s no way they’re selling out the home end.

Where would you be able to go like?

Historically aye, there has been. The East Wing or something it's called?
Also the North East, but I'd imagine the East Stand should be enough, no?

We're in the North East and it's sold out.

Must be because the away teams are still using the East Stand for changing? (I'm assuming). Which is mad in itself but that's another argument.

Seems a bit silly that there will be many empty seats at that game and maybe a few hundred rovers fans who’d happily hand over their £20 effectively locked out. Do Dunfermline not like free money?

This closing of stands is utter shite. Both sets of players can meet outside, go for a coffee and do shopping together. There is no justifiable reason for this crap at any ground. They have separate changing rooms, showers. It's another spfl joke.

They aren't allowed to shower. Well not unless the showers are effectively modified to make them open air with no steam anyway. I don't think any club in the Championship is permitting showers. Most of the changing areas don't even have showers as the away team changes in a bar or suite.

The reason for it is players aren't necessarily vaccinated and will have to sit out 10 days if anyone else in the dressing room gets Covid. These are not SPFL rules. They are Scottish government guidance.

I'm fairly certain that clubs are no longer forced to do so. The "red zones", which was forcing it, were scrapped after the most recent International break.

It's up to clubs to decide how they want to approach it now, so presumably if I'm right Dunfermline have decided to continue to use this approach.

Incorrect. It's not up to Dunfermline. Every club has the right to insist on it when visiting grounds and most of them, quite rightly, will do. You can't force another club's staff to waive their entitlement to social distancing at work and the clubs shouldn't really be forcing it on their own employees either. The inevitable result of that is every club has to plan on the assumption the away club (and match officials) will insist on their rights. The Championship clubs have met and agreed to just accept that will be the case for the foreseeable future and deal with it accordingly.

When you say waive the right to social distancing, are you taking about changing room facilities and showers? If you are, surely players could ‘stagger’ getting a shower where 5 or 6 of the players go in first then the others go in afterwards. It has to be better than driving home in muddy kit.

Do Olympic swimmers need to drive home in their wet swim suits? It seems like common sense is always removed when it comes to football compared to other professional sports.

I'd imagine they would have a towel tbh.

Are you seriously that thick? The away team are using the east stand for changing facilities. That’s why the stand isn’t open for fans to use. They can (and do) change out of their kit for the drive home. Therefore, your ridiculous comparison with swimmers driving home in swim suits is total drivel. The only people suggesting that the players shouldn’t have the facilities to change are those saying that the east stand should be given to the away fans anyway.

Not being able to shower is completely different to not being able to change clothes. How can you not understand that? I’d imagine lack of fully vaccinated players is probably one of the main reasons that a lot of restrictions still exist within football clubs. One player catching covid, then showering, could result in 10 players being forced to isolate. It would then be very hard for the club to argue that they had taken all reasonable precautions to avoid that scenario, given the SFA/SPFL would point out that players didn’t shower after games for the last year.

Also, swimming isn’t a ‘professional sport’ at all, they’re all amateurs as nobody is employed as a swimmer for any swimming club - even at Olympic level. Elite swimmers are funded by grants/sponsorship deals, not salaries. So that is a terrible comparison to use when talking about ‘other professional sports’.

For what it’s worth, I’d much rather Rovers could bring 2000 fans (or however many tickets you could sell). But we have to accept that we are still far from whatever ‘normal’ will look like and clubs have to be taking all necessary steps to follow guidelines and avoid covid outbreaks within the squad.

Just to interject it must be absolutely bogging having to drive home having not being allowed to shower having had to run about for 90mins, despite being able to change and towel yourself down or whatever.

Looks like we’ve sold out the allocation for the Dunfermline game.
Aye, it was gone as of yesterday afternoon. Can't remember which of the Pars fans said on here when they were initially available lasy month but they went very quickly after Rovers put the link up on the website. The away end should be bouncing from the start.
