Matthews looks to have moved to 8, Connolly is 7, Zanatta is 11... Vaughan, Spencer, Tumilty and Benedictus all look to have kept their numbers as is. Plus McKay moves to 14, Tait takes 15. The young lads remained the same.

If you go with the McGlynn 1-11 theory then we have our defence pecking order...
placidcasual
The number doesn't denote the role. Sometimes, the position, but the role is up to the manager and can change within a game, never mind from one game to the next. You're wasted on here with insight like this.
ribzanelli
Think we have strong net minders and blue liners, just need to claim a tight end off waivers, some bullpen help and someone who is strong in the paint to join the active roster and we should be looking good for the postseason

If you go with the McGlynn 1-11 theory then we have our defence pecking order... Using the “conventional” numbering scheme, that puts every defender in their expected position except the option of Berra at the CB or possible sweeper role…but I don’t see him having the motor for sweeper anymor Then we get to the mids and forwards (or Middlemen and Offensemen, see…), Connolly at 7 is a right wing, Matthews is the center/defensive mid at 8, Keatings is CF in 9, Vaughan is in 10 at attacking mid, and Zanatta is the left wing… Which gives us this mishmash…perhaps a 3-3-1-3, with Tumilty and Dick playing the wide positions in a diamond? MacDonald Musonda/Berra/Bene Tumilty/Matthews/Dick Vaughan Connolly/Keatings/Zanatta It’s interesting, but this is Tait’s year to break out and stop getting stupid cards. I also suspect that Smith became excess to needs after Mahady got a year under his belt, since Luke is so much bigger, and fits JMcG’s vision better.

It’s a bit sexist and assumptive referring to them as men regardless. What about players who consider themselves not to be a male?

Wee Sandy
This may have been answered elsewhere but, do we know where Regan Hendry is going? I had heard Hibs?

Word is that he wants to go to England, but apart from a mention of Ipswich no news.
raith1974
Trying to get back to team matters. Both Lang and Mackay were training in Gym 64 today.
Raith_Raver
Despite the loss of Hendry, and to a lesser extent Armstrong and loanees Gullan and Kennedy I think we'll still have a strong exciting team. The defence will be much stronger and the forwards should have goals in them - Keatings will be better than Ugwu and Duku and no doubt McGlynn will being in back ups. Of course the midfield will be much less fluent but I think McGlynn will get the best out of Connolly, as well as Zanatta. Roll on the season.
