The only way I’d be taking Adam King is if Regan Hendry gave up his skills to him Space Jam style. But that ain’t happening. So no thanks. 😂

King hasn't looked like someone who can come in and do more than a half decent job for us this season. I'd be disappointed if he ended up signing for us permanently.

Which doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a useful potential bench warmer for a bit of depth. Since he’s familiar with the manager, team and scheme, it might not be the worst shout, as long as he isn’t a planned starter. A known quantity may well have some value.

If this season has proven anything, it's that squad "filler" doesn't work. We need to keep as high a quality as possible across the entire playing staff.

We signed Hendry to a 2 year contract when we were in league 1 so your statement is pish, we need to get players who want to play for our gaffers, end of

We need to bring in players to improve the starting 11, pushing the current starters down the pecking order. That's how to progress a squad. We won't be able to do that for every player but bringing King in permanently would be a big mistake. He can do a half decent job. aka not even decent.

Hendry didn’t sign for the money though did he. McPake isn’t a good manager. He spent cash to strengthen the team. Hardly a pish statement

Disagree on the can’t do a decent job.

Wondering how his season proved that. We started knowing Mendy was an issue, but we didn’t get another body in. Having another option, even if they are average, allows for injuries to not derail a season. Consider what the season would have looked like if Bene had been more seriously injured.

Again, King is average in our system…but that’s not bad for a backup.

Surely we could just use youngsters like Coulson if we want midfield jersey fillers.  Absolute worst case he wouldn't be any worse.
Arnott is already on the books as a central midfielder if football manager is anything to go by. Would rather the youngsters were given the chance than signing a backup player.

The difference is King has played, and done so acceptably a few times…Arnott has not, and is adjudged not to be ready to play by JMcG. At least an extra mid is needed, and one of our MA’s doesn’t fill that role if they can’t get on the pitch.
