Please explain why you shouldn't be in this league.

1. You won 4 league games,  pathetic

2. You finished bottom of the league

3. Your owner stood by Levein and Co for too long, what a great decision that was.

4. Your BOD allowed all managers to bring in overpaid pish players.

5. You fully deserve to be in this league

6. You should have been fined a huge amount and deducted points.

7. You should never have been training when your fate was sealed and all other Championship clubs were not training.

8. You should wind your necks in and stop moaning like little bitches. Your making the old firm look good.

9. Enjoy the Championship and for your sake dont get beat too heavily by Hibs in the cup seeing as they are far ahead of you.

2. You finished bottom of the league.

They never Finished bottom of the league ? the league was actually cancelled early . But it suits you for false promotion . 🤮

Has someone just tried to claim Dunfermline is well supported in Dunfermline??
Everywhere you go there’s a Rangers or Celtic shirt!

Clearly not as bad as Kirkcaldy though. Again the people of Dunfermline back their team in much greater numbers than the people of Kirkcaldy back Raith Rovers. Both Towns have near enough the same population. Why is this?

False promotion? Are we just going to pretend we're not having to play shite like the Fife every other week next season? Still better than your roaring back pish though.

Tbf it's definitely something your board should care about, it is a bit odd that there is such a difference with regards to attendances.

The board should attempt to maximise income of course, and to get as many people through the gates as possible, that is a subtly different proposition to trying to compare ourselves to you, or anyone else which really isnt the board's concern.

The challenges inherent are pretty obvious. The presence of the Flyers does of course siphon off a lot of the town's sporting income. For whatever reason Ice Hockey 'stuck' in Kirkcaldy in a way that it didn't in other places (I think both Dunfermline and Falkirk had Ice Rinks in the 60s) and Rovers and the Flyers are thus up against each other.

If you do want to look at things relatively, the socio-economics of the two towns are different and diverging. The proximity of Dunfermline to Edinburgh, and the last decade worth of house building means that Dunfermline is a commuter town to the capital and there is more disposable income that goes with white collar workers working in Edinburgh.

At the end of the day, crowds are a large factor in controlling the income a football club receives but ultimately the level of income is a strong but not absolute indicator of a club's success. Hamilton and Livingston being two clubs that have enjoyed far more top tier football with anemic crowds.

It's really not strange at all. Rovers have had a rough 23 years since being relegated from the Premiership. We've thrown money at getting straight back up, and paid the price on and off the pitch in the few years after that. We've had the Anelka debacle then the god awful Dalziel side that followed.

Mcglynn laid foundations for change in his first spell, and after Mckinnons season we were genuinely looking like progressing as a club. That was all ruined in 1 year.

We've spent 3 spells totalling 8 seasons in the 3rd tier since the turn of the century. We all would like more people to come and watch the Rovers, but it's not particularly difficult to see why attendances have tailed off over the years.

Other than that spell in League 1,Dunfermlime have spent most of this century either in the Premiership and Championship, with a couple of cup finals chucked in too. Really not a surprise that they have a bigger fan base.

There's far more too it than looking at 2 towns with broadly comparable populations.

If we are ever to grow the fan base we need a spell in the Premiership. That's obviously easier said than done, and is a while away at the very best. However, there are a lot of youngsters going to watch the Rovers these days, and that is superb. But they will need a hell of a lot more than we've seen over the past 20 years for that to stick as time goes on.

I'm 32,and whilst I remember our "glory years" just about, can't imagine anyone under 30 will. There will be Dunfermline fans under 30 who will have seen their team have 2 spells in the Premiership, 2 Scottish Cup Finals, European football and a First Division title.

In reality, we are operating in the sale universe as Ayr, Morton and Queen of the South. We had higher average attendance than all 3 of these sides last season.

Our biggest issue seems to be the historical debt. We "upgraded" starks and spent money we shouldn't have on duds. The gangsters, anelka etc just seen us plummet and people lost interest. The best thing mcglynn has done in both spells is to form a bond with the community with the squads we have. It's something the current board seem to really want to push and I'm all for it. It should hopefully see more people attend (when possible)we are going to be fighting a recession in the UK moving forward though so that will make things harder in that regard.

Does this mean we’ve roared back?
