possible return to football, but will probably have to watch it on raith tv in the 1st instance. Don’t know how it will work for away fans though.

I'm glad we're voting no to Budge's blackmail attempt.

Goals from Kevin Twaddle and Scott Thomson earned Raith a point against Rangers in front of a capacity crowd at Stark's Park.

Despite being reduced to 9 men, Rovers held on to win 3 priceless points at Tannadice.

Remember that game at Tannadice, some free kick from Stevie Kirk. Those Norwegian boys were decent. The amount of money we spent that season is eye watering though in comparison to what it’s like now (not just for us of course)

Kent Bergersen? Yeah he was good. Can't remember any other decent Norwegian tho, certainly not Odd Arild.

Was Vetle Anderson any good? Can't remember

If we can go on trains with a mask, could we not do something similar for the football and just make mask wearing compulsory?

I can’t see why not, if we score it’ll be a little muffled haha.

Vetle divided opinion I think. Classy left peg but one of our slowest ever players?

Because of the shite we had at the back!!

We had comfortably the best defensive record in the league that season. The next best team to us conceded 10 more. We had many problems that season (away form, attitude, style of play, lack of creativity to name just a few) Vaughan is also the only attacking player listed who can say they had a great season. The rest all disappointed or flattered to deceive to varying degrees. Our defensive record was very far down the list of things wrong.

Spence and Buchanan were nowhere near good enough - however the main problem was Barry Smith's tactics were essentially to put 11 decent enough players on the pitch and launch the ball to them. At smaller grounds you could hear phrases such as "fucking play it long" quite frequently coming from the dugout.

The defence was largely fine that season - other than the goalkeeping situation.

How did we not win the league with a front 4 of Buchs, Spence, Vaughan and Furtado/Barr?

1. Spence is shit.

2. Buchanan was past it.

3. Barr is a typical shitehawk winger who gives you 3 bad games for every one good game.

4. Furtardo discovered Valentes.

5. No useful midfield behind them.

6. Barry Smith was an unimaginative beige void of a human being that has less presence than a hard vaccuum.

Also a complete lack of bottle.  We beat Airdrie in mid Feb to go 8 points clear (with a game more played) - then in the next 2 weeks conceded 2 last minute equalisers to throw leads away vs Albion Rovers and Arbroath.  Any cushion we had going into the head to head with Ayr was gone and we folded from there onwards.  That annoys me more than blowing the last game of the season, as Alloa were a decent team.

Yeah, agreed. Comes back to the shitehawkery of too many of our guys that season. Spence, Barr, Herron... all the ability to stand up to pressure as a bamboo beach house in the path of a nuclear test.

Correct. Ayr scored an absolute shit load of goals, yet we were neck and neck the whole season and at one time they were 8 points behind us. Their tenancy to score three or four every week was what kept them there, as they would often concede two.

We on the other hand relied on clean sheets or keeping it to one conceded. Our gamble of bringing in two players who scored a lot of goals the previous season backfired due to an idiot manager who had no idea how to get the best from them.

It was incredible the number of goals we lost from individual errors that season. Stuff like Smith away to Albion Rovers. The reality is there were too many mediocre players who didn't put in the effort. Willis Furtado must be the only player I've ever seen lose fitness the more game time he played.

It didn't help that Smith had absolutely zero tactical awareness as mentioned. The game was up when we went to Somerset in a must win game, and only changed from 5 in midfield once we were three down. Utterly depressing season.

Thank f**k we got McGlynn back and gave him a couple of transfer windows to sort the squad out.

Talking of that Ayr game where we were royally fucked, Barry sticking McHattie back in the team when no where near fit or match fit, playing up against Forrest who was excellent at the time. Disgraceful decision! I actually felt sorry for McHattie that game, should never have been put in that position.

But aye, we should have ran away with it. Too many draws, and hugely costing mistakes (the Smiddy Cruyff turn in the box - oh ya hoor!!), so didn’t deserve it.
