Quick Question Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm buying some things from an American website and on the shipping there's a notice saying "Customer is responsible for any Taxes/Duties/Fees"

I can't immediately find what these are It seems I have: Tax and customs for goods sent from abroad: Tax and duty - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

And it seems I've ordered £3 under the threshold. Good call.

Unfortunately, our friends at Customs and Excise like to include the shipping cost of the parcel in their calculation. I've had many arguments about this over the years; some successful, some not so much.

I think all of the couriers demand payment for customs charges before they'll deliver now - used to be you could accept the parcel and just tell them that they had no contract with you, so you weren't paying them anything. FedEx (for one) would always cave and close the claim.

My (six month old) telly has developed horizontal lines going across the whole screen. Is it fucked?

Depends if it's a fault with a circuit board or the panel. If it's the panel, it's horsed.

You'll still be under warranty though, so happy days.

Your lucky about 5 years ago, my sister (Scotland) sent a phone(used) by recorded delivery for my daughters birthday.  The postman (Thai Post) asked me for 3000 baht and a signature. I told him to f**k off.  Same day I went to the local post office to see what it was all about, they asked me for 2000 baht.

See never got the phone☹️

Also buy Forfar tops, but only 5 have arrived, been here for 15 years....😍 (Thai Forfar Ultra are out there).

My friend got dun years ago, police did f**k all..It was happening all round the scheme.

We 'talked' to few boys, they told us pretty quickly who it was......

Remember it's not the boys, but the big boys cry the same.

Let's say having a sword and them (business man) shite like the rest.

Probably more than there are in Alloa.

Thankfully, Alloa's one of the few places you'll see more people wearing the local club's shirts than Celtgers (although it'd be close and most will be kids).

English Premier League shirts? That's a different matter.

Can anyone who has used the music bit of Amazon Prime advise if it's any good? I've got a 6 month free trial , I've got half an eye on binning Spotify if I can listen to the same stuff on AP.

Says it's got 2 million tracks but I guess it depends which 2 million.

I have Prime, and am not a regular listener to music. Even I think Prime Music is a bit shit. There is a Prime Music Unlimited which has a lot more, but on the rare occassion I go to use it, iv often ran into a lack of what I want or being locked for Unlimited customers.

I'd imagine if you are a keen user of Spotify, AP will be shit for you unless you spring for Unlmiited

I notice that nobody's grassed to save my hide.

Admirable and terrifying at the same time.

Actually I tried but when I asked directory enquiries for the phone number for the police station in Krakatoa they told me to piss off.

Don't know why.
