Bairnardo
Aye, a gutty is a slingshot or a gym shoe. It was briefly, IIRC correctly, an early 00's term for a female of ill repute aswell.

For years it sounded like a shop for very gangsta ladies of ill repute.

I did a computer course years ago in Inverness and the class next to us was a bunch of old biddies doing an introduction to the internet thing. They were told to search for local businesses, and the firm opposite was Highland Office Equipment, which led one of the ladies to a hard core Japanese porn site. The cackling was immense.

I used to like putting one on each finger then biting them off one by one. Would always end up biting them too hard and gnawing my finger.

We’ve all been there. Some took a sufficient bite, others just crumbled and you were left in agony. Think they done it on purpose.

alta-pete
The letter G from the sign outside Angus Sports in Montrose went missing for a considerable period of time in the early 90's...Similarly, for a while The County Bar at Clackmannan Cross used to have it’s individual letters screwed into the stonework above the door. The ‘O’ was almost permanently missing.
