You’ll find all the actual sold prices in your postcode on the link below. They’re not rocket surgeons, they’ll use the same info and, again, all will come to an answer within a bawhair of each other.

How do you operate on a rocket?

Painted my last house before I sold it.

Surveyor put on the report that the textured ceilings could indicate the presence of artex and therefore asbestos.  He conveniently ignored the fact the house was built decades after asbestos was banned.  What he described as “textured” ceilings were from nothing other than a paint roller.

He left his extendable ladders in my house.  I kept them.  p***k.

After me pointing out the obvious flaws in his report he removed all his pish.

I like it when someone has just spent thousands rewiring the place only for the surveyor to tick a box that says “electrics look pretty old and fucked”.

Accepted an offer on my flat today. We have verbal agreement that they are happy to hang on until we can move in to our new build. Is there a way/is it necessary to get that agreement baked into the contract?

I hope it falls through.

Your naïveté is showing.

The ‘wiring is of a mixed and dated vintage’ is the correct wording.

Never quite washes in a 5 year old house though.

I swear these fuds spin the roulette wheel of faults they’ll find before they even set foot in a house.

First question. Yes, you can have "at a a date mutually agreed" instead of a date of entry.

Second question. I don't know how much you know/trust these people but a verbal contract has no effect where there is also a written contract ie the offer including date of entry. In the event you can't move on the agreed date of entry they can sue you for any loss incurred on their part.

So, whilst isn't ideal, getting "at date mutual agreed" is better than relying on somebody else's word.

Has anyone saw a badger in real life? I've only ever seen them on the tele or lying dead.

I was in posh Blackhall one night with the ex and we heard this noise from a drive. She shat herself thinking it was a mugger when this badger appeared from under a car, sniffed at us and buggered off.

It’s definitely worth getting a painter in first. Such a simple way to add value to your home before getting it valued.

This post was brought to you by Shandon Par’s decorating services.

Do you ever get called in by folk who've just moved in to paint over the new paint that the people moving out did when they were selling? It all seems a waste of time.

Just been painting a few walls in someone’s newly acquired £1mil+ flat.

We've got them in the woods behind us, but in over ten years living here I think I've only actually seen one maybe three or four times.

First time was not long after we moved in. The living room has got a bay window that my missus was walking past when the security light went on. She looked out to see what had tripped it and said it was a badger...I don't think she'll ever forgive me for my reply of "Is it f**k - it'll just be a black and white cat..."

Badger right enough - the light had come on and it had just frozen in place.

We had a bit of a weird one when we moved here - we'd initially viewed two houses we were equally happy with, but the couple in the first one told us pretty unequivocally at the viewing that they were happy moving out within three months as their in-laws lived round the corner and they'd just move in with them temporarily if they didn't find somewhere themselves before then. We put in an offer which they accepted only for them to come back to us and tell us they now weren't prepared to move for another nine months at the earliest.

Whether it was a ploy to try and screw a higher bid out of us I don't know, but it didn't work because we told them to ram it and bought the other place we'd looked at. Their estate agent came back to us asking if we would reinstate our bid if she spoke to them - she'd been on leave while this was going down - and when we said no chance more or less admitted she'd had problems with them from the start with constantly moving goalposts.

We had similar a few years back.  Viewed a house we liked.  Asked the woman how long she reckoned she'd need to move out.  She said there were plenty rentals around and she could be gone in a few weeks.  We put an offer in and she accepted then her solicitor said she wanted 3 months to look before even thinking about an entry date.

Offer swiftly withdrawn.

Never understand why people feel the need to mess you around when doing house transactions.
