Yeah true that would actually make a lot of sense then. Had forgotten about that link between them, and partly forgot Howe was in about the job emoji3.png

Possibly explains why Devlin captained the side recently. The club knew Guthrie wasn't going to be here and potentially Marv. Nailed on that Nicky is club captain next season.

Yeah true, think I'd posted about that before but would definitely explain it. I'm completely fine with Devlin being captain, he has the right mentality at least.

With potentially Guthrie, Bartley and more away it could explain why the arse fell out our season. Players with their heads elsewhere

Bartley posting this as well sounds a little bit ominous...

Been offered a coaching position at Celtic I'm hearing.

Not sure that Celtic players need to be coached on how to fall over whenever an opposition player comes close to you.

The absolute supreme at winning the 'tactical foul' :D

Feels like a massive job to replace Guthrie and Bartley in one window, plus the loss of Lithgow from the club, but probably thought the same when the likes of Gallagher and Halkett left a few Summers ago.

Ooft, if we lose Guthrie and Marv then that makes the rebuilding job a lot harder than it looked like it would be on Saturday
If we can get Diani in permanently then I'd say it's a long term upgrade on an ageing Bartley. Marv has been immense for us and will always be fondly remembered.

Guthrie definitely, Bartley however will just be like for like with Holt or even Obileye I think

Any idea on how Bruce Anderson could do with us? Seems an exciting signing on the face of it

He might be ok. He did very little for us but probably didn’t get much of a chance on the pitch. A bit like Shankland, maybe he needs to move to a team a little bit lower in the league and with smaller expectations.

Martindale has basically been talking him up as a great finisher that we need to make chances for. Natural goal scorer who should be able to get a chunk of goals next season for sure

As long as it’s not against us, I hope you’re right. I wish him well at Livingston.

Hopefully in the next few months we see new deals for Sibbald, Hamilton, Devlin and Forrest. Would be a big thing to keep a core like that with us and not signing pre-contracts in January etc

The Courier understands the club are pursuing a loan move for a goalkeeper and left-sided player from the English Premiership as well as a pair of centre-backs with several years of experience in English League Two whose contracts are coming to an end.

Probably depends how much he buys into your style. He'll likely be feeling about 12ft tall considering all thats happened (fee paid, number 9 shirt, long contract, manager praising him) so will surely go balls out to impress, which I think was an issue for him at Ayr.

Honestly not a player I'd have thought was a "fit" for Livingston, but guess clubs have to evolve etc. in terms of figures he done a lot less defensively p90 than any striker at Livingston, a lot less aerial duels aswell. Possibly end up being a sort of Robinson replacement more than anything, just being a pest and trying to link play, rather the taking on defences on his own and that.

Be interesting to see how it works out. Clearly something there.
