Livi vs Partick Thistle in the semis please. Hopefully in front of about 11k at Hampden to further enrage the guid auld boys of Sportsound even further

Now that would be banterlicious, they'd make the venue at Easter rd or Fir park though.

If we didn’t get drawn against rangers or Celtic we had a very good chance of reaching semi final.

On the players what’s going on with tiffoney? He looked sharp last season now he’s hardly had a chance.

Dont know what’s going on with Lawson would be good to get an update on the situation?

We have lost Menga and not really replaced him. Need another striker 100%. Maybe a loan move?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Byrne was not, and is not good enough for us. Great player and a huge servant to us in our rise through the leagues however he's too slow to play Premiership football. Letting him go and getting money for him was always a great deal for us absolutely. Like for like, we lost him for Bartley, and it was a great swap.

Strange comment? He was up there with our best players. Him Pittman Kelly Halkett Gallacher Keags were outstanding first half of the season and he was easily good enough. Do you not remember the unbeaten run at start of season? Lawson was very good second half of season but cost us a lot goals first half of season. I would love to know what’s going on with Lawson as everyone seems to be guessing.

Menga wasn't really a striker but we've replaced him with Souda, who looks an upgrade.  I loved Menga's chaotic style of play but Souda looks a more skilful player.

Wholeheartedly agree LF,souda is an upgrade on menga, still not the out and out striker we"re looking for but an improvement all the same.

Hardie hardly set the heather on fire last season though, was out injured till December, had a purple patch for about 4 games, then went off back to Sevco and wasn't the same player when we got him back again.

We're either going to have to find a striker that bursts into an unexpected rich vein of goal scoring form, or a loan signing that hits his potential at Livi, because we aren't going to be able to afford a proven goal scoring striker on our budget. Hardie didn't come to us with a proven record at Championship level, St Mirren fans were hardly complimentary on his loan spell with them, we got lucky with him doing so well with us. Personally I would've liked for us to have taken a chance on Kevin Nisbet, but he's signed for the Pars.

Hardie was still one of our top scorers. Surely you have to replace that?

Yeah almost all in the same month and even then it didn't get us many points to say he was a greater asset than Dykes. Dykes and Souda have already 4 goals between them this season. Also reckon Pittman will continue to be played as an attacking midfielder and will score more goals this season than last.

Hardie got 1 goal in our 3-1 win over St Mirren, 2 in our 5-0 win over Hearts, a goal in our 1-1 draw with Hibs, and a goal in our 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen. Out of that i'd say possiblly got us 4 points, arguably could've beaten St Mirren anyway but his goal put us ahead before Sibbald made sure of the win with our 3rd. We had Hearts beat with or without Hardie that game and Aberdeen beat us even with Hardie's goal so no benefit in that game. The rest of the season he made no difference at all to us, and as andylivi said, at times he was a passenger.

*edit to add. Halkett is the biggest loss for us this season, both in defence and as a main source of goals from set pieces (plus that thunderfuck from about 9,000 yards away), but that took several seasons of him playing in the team to get him to where he was last season so it's impossible to find a straight replacement in one season.

A new signing is always exciting 😁

Wylde and/or Erskine to go? Otherwise, Tiffoney with more competition? Switching to 2 up front when we have a better foothold in games? Just posing absolute filler questions here because the games aren’t coming fast enough.

The fact that everyone says he's so fast brings an interesting addition.

One of the criticisms of Souda (not by me) was that he was left in an advanced position whenever Forfar had a corner, but failed to capitalise on it. In that position I'd prefer the attacking player to get as close the the halfway line as possible so that, in the event of a break, the attacking player can use his speed to break ahead of the defender(s).

Think Wylde is definitely gone; if no one wants him I can see it being a mutual termination on deadline day. Erskine is a weird one, I do think he's a good player but this probably pushes him a bit further down the pecking order, and at 32 does he want to be sitting in the reserves or will he be pushing for a move elsewhere to get more game time?

I might be wrong but hasn't Tiffoney mainly come on to play on the left? Either way competition can only be a good thing; Souda, Lawless, Tiffoney, Sibbald, Stobbs, and Erskine all trying to get themselves in the team.

Not exactly a striker like we've been looking for but another option to chuck up there like the Robinsons of the world who might be able to do well out of position. Would also expect him to be able to play Pittman's role quite well, and even if it's one of the CMs coming off Pittman can drop back and Stobbs can play in behind Dykes.

Wonder if this is them realising they should have kept Rafa, so have brought in another winger until January when he's due back

Think Erskine would be good in the Pittman role. He doesn't have the pace to play wide anymore but has a great footballing brain and would like to see him behind the striker. He's shown he can comfortably carry the ball and find the net so play to his strengths
