I'd rather have Jack McMillan playing, really didn't get us sticking him out on loan and signing Hakeem, haven't seen anything from him that looks better than Jack.

Its Livi we do weird stuff regarding transfers excited to see if Jack kicks on from last season with Partick have a mate who support them and he said he was very impressed with him

Like when we punted Scott Boyd, that's up there with Sevco punting Craig Halkett for not being good enough.

Or Murray Davidson AND Dave McKay for a collective fee of about £50k

Or Leigh Griffiths to Dundee for buttons

Or the sell on fee for Dorrans being sold off

Or no sell on fee for Snodgrass

Or signing Giordano Vanin as a keeper and releasing him about 3 days later

Or signing James Brown (he didn't feel good) on loan to play one game against Celtic with no pre-season under his belt and swiftly punting him back to Milwall when Miller was removed

---Repeat ad nauseam---

Widely considered one of the best bits of transfer business St Johnstone have ever done.

Could bring out a book on the crazy Massone exploits at Livi, most of his stuff you just couldn't make it up and have anyone believing it.

500 + appearances and a Scottish cup between Davidson and Mackay. Sensational stuff.

569 appearances between the two, apparently.

Comes to £44 per appearance, per player.

Or £88 for Muzza, you got Dave thrown in for free just for Massone to get rid of him from slagging him off in the papers about not paying players wages.

What happened during the mad times of Massone or the "Del Boy" wheeler dealer times of Flynn can really be termed indicative of Livi. Both were asset strippers with differing agendas but similar outcome. The rarely mentioned selling off of the land and rights to build in the near part of the stadium but Flynn's consortium which meant we couldn't continue with the nightclub or arrange non-football evening events at the stadium  continue to affect us.

i think the sell on clause for Dorrans would have been worthless though seeing as how he stayed at West Brom and signed a new contract. That being said I doubt very much if the money got for cancelling the sell-on clause found its way anywhere near the Livi accounts - similar to the money we were supposed to have received for Griffiths.

James Brown was a truly odd one; particularly seeing as how he found himself in the team ahead of Lithgow. That was Kenny Milleresque at its height; we are just lucky that he was punted when he was and Gary came in and was able to steady the ship.

My only real concern recently has been when we sign a new player and he walks straight into the first team regardless of fitness etc. We saw this with Wylde; Lawson and Erskine particularly. Lawson has undoubtedly "come good" but it took time for him to build up his fitness etc. Erskine was looking better as well until his injury. Wylde was given about three starts until being dropped despite a number of better options on the bench.

We've had more than our fair share of "nutters" and shady characters in charge at the vale; that's had a huge impact on supporter numbers. By contrast the current management team and board are relatively "boring" but long may it continue as far as I'm concerned. I've had more than enough of "colourful characters" if I'm honest.

Can stating the facts be described as "slagging off"? As I recall the team had missed their wages for several month on a row (maybe more) and in some case payment was made up to six weeks late.. Some employees didn't get paid at all.

That was around the same time that Massone turned to power off to the stadium to "teach the fans a lesson". wasnt it?

EDIT - well maybe it was slagging off if the "Sun" report is accurate https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/archives/news/19501/mackays-lies-blast-over-livi-wage-row/

Nowadays the lying mad crooked c**t is advertising kitchen rolls. One sheet eez plenty!!

It was almost a pantomime - thinking back to some of the things he got up to its almost unbelievable now.

Davie Hay was also a big loser; caught having to try and support his son-in-law, who was one of the faceless consortium, for his daughter's sake; his name and reputation got tarnished with the rest.

Wasn't much better on the forums, particularly the old LiviLions one, some fecking soap opera that was when both Flynn and then Massone were in charge. Both of them came onto it trying to win over the fans, then having a slanging match when told they were talking shite.

Caused a lot of divide in the support though, and some never came back. Entertaining as f**k for other fans looking on right enough, we should've sold tickets.:jerry
