There’s the first one, Steven Lawless, good bit of business by the club, top flight experience and a position we desperately needed to cover.

Still two to come, 1 tomorrow, 1 on Friday maybe ?

We’re due another coach as well?

Nowhere near it, Lithgow was brilliant but always has been the weakest of a strong back three.

Last season's player of the year was between Lithgow and Halkett, Dec wasn't even considered imo, with Byrne and Pittman next in line. Dunno how anyone can say Lithgow would be tested to his limit this season, we thought that last season and he was outstanding. Can't possibly write him off as back up till he's had a chance to play, and from what i saw last season he's as much chance as Dec who's prone to a bit of slackness at the back.

I like the look of Lamie but can't say he's better than Lithgow, he's a fair bit to go yet to prove that as he hasn't played enough. Happy enough with Lamie but I think Lithgow adds a bit more in attack and getting goals, esp with his throw ins, and I like his no nonsense defending too, very solid,

Can't really remember much about thistle's players in the play offs, other than Conor Sammon being mince and missing a penalty, Lawless has plenty of experience in the Premiership though so hopefully he's decent with it. We certainly were needing wingers.

2 wingers who both played in Scotland last season and a defender on loan from down south.

So that’s 1 winger and the defender on loan signed.

1 left to go, unsure if it’ll be announced tomorrow or not, the deal still to be finalised.

Feeling a bit of dissonance...

I phoned Livi (about 1pm on Wednesday) and got them to post out two tickets for the Celtic game via first class recorded mail.

As of today they hadn't arrived... so I phoned the club reception at 3pm today and they have told me that they sent the tickets out on Thursday Morning (despite assuring me they would do on Wednesday).

When I asked them to double check what postcode they put down they told me that they hadn't lodged a record of it (only the transaction and my address on the envelope), therefore there was no way of checking that they sent it correctly or even what seats I was allocated...

The part that really burns, is that when I asked them if they could help, they just tried to wash their hands of it. Very disappointed especially given the occasion of the match which means a lot to me as a lifelong fan.

Unfortunately they didn't even take a few minutes to think of a potential solution. They just didn't care.

Maybe they will arrive tomorrow but i'm left sitting in my Glasgow gaff hoping, with no alternative.

Anybody have any ideas what I can do?

I'm guessing no-one at the club will be available between now and tomorrow - best bet, as bizarre as it sounds, it maybe to tweet John Ward. Seems a pretty approachable guy and would probably be happy to help I imagine.

The club's got a League 1, PT-standard infrastructure but that's nothing new. Unfortunate that things like this happen but hopefully the Ticketmaster deal will take away some of the pressure in that regard.

Went through Facebook instead. Really quick response from John which was very refreshing in the context.

He basically said there wasn't much they could do.

My back-up plan will be to get in the Celtic end but i'm taking my flatmate who has just moved up from Sunderland and I was hoping he might take to Livi. He will almost certainly be seduced by Celtic now...

Good luck to you guys today and for the rest of the season. Last year was another great achievement and yous deserve this opportunity to test yourselves at the top.

I'm absolutely delighted for Shaun Byrne who I know personally: he's been through a lot in his life but Livi have got him back to his best and more and I'm so happy for him to be a major part of your club. As I said in the Podcast I produced, I think yous have strengthened with a bit of balls in terms of continuing the mantra of recruitment which has worked over the past 2 years rather than just chucking silly money at it.

I genuinely hope it works out for yous and I'll be watching your scores avidly each week.

Cheers! :)
