Guest bernardblack
WWE did not NEED to lay these people off, far from it. They needed a clearing out at some point, but they are under no financial strain at the minute.This. Vince is a scumbag. Looks like he misled XFL/WWE investors too

In fact he specifically sold WWE shares to get the money for the XFL. Obviously. But he's going to be tighter than a ducks arse at the moment.

He and his wife just threw $18.5m of committed spending to the state of Florida literally 6 days before the releases. Funnily enough, a day after, WWE was declared as an 'essential business' and allowed to resume live shows in the state. Tighter than a ducks arse - I think not.
djchapsticks
Also, the reported figure of $4m a month saved on firings and furloughs is incorrect. The total figure is $4m but this is taking everything into account such as cut backs on advertising for local and national events and the halting of building WWE's new HQ. The total savings per month for all of the on-screen, off-screen and office personnel let go is actually around $700k per month. A shortfall they could have very easily made up. But as long as the fucking shareholders are all right though, eh?
Ludo*1
Perfect time for Vince to become an on-screen figure again and ramp up the hatred IMO.

DA Baracus
Seemingly they're on course, as things stand, to make a billion dollars this year.
DA Baracus
NJPW, who most certainly won't be making a billion dollars this year, are paying everyone in full throughout the pandemic.
Stellaboz
I'm also pretty sure their wrestlers aren't on multi million dollar contracts either.

The top guys there are seemingly on such contracts and don't have to pay for travel or accommodation.
Stellaboz
Seemingly. I only see rumour and innuendo here. -
Ludo*1
And the top guys don't make up for 'most' of the roster.
Mark Connolly
When Jinder Mahal got binned, he bulked up, came back and became WWE Champion. When Drew McIntyre got binned, he bulked up, came back and became WWE Champion. I bet Heath Slater is in the gym right now.

DA Baracus
Jericho does a live broadcast on his Facebook and Youtube channels every Sunday morning at 02.00 BST (it's only 21.00 where he stays). Last week he had Kevin Smith on. Missed the one before that but the week before that, the first one, was good. Pretty entertaining stuff. As well as discussing what's going on in wrestling and music he tells some wrestling and music stories, as well ad general 'what's happening in the world' stuff, and just chats silly shit.
