airdrieman
Heartbreaking. No words to describe how utterly sad that is. She was a unique, captivating performer well ahead of her time and someone who always excelled and entertained wherever she worked. RIP Daffney.
8MileBU
Are the WWE women all afraid they’ll be just the latest wrestler to be released if they speak out about feeling unsafe in the same way some of the men did about Ryback? Just the latest in a now long list of Nia throwing people recklessly landing within an inch of paralysis: -

djchapsticks
Karl Anderson had a completely normal one it looks like. Someone posted on twitter that the WWE had text it's talent to inform them that if anyone is feeling down or depressed they have professional mental health services available as part of their contract. Karl Anderson tweeted back that they (WWE) suck and people jumped on it. I'm sure he had reason to but in the wake of Daffney committing suicide, it definitely wasn't the time or place to air that grievance. Instead of clarifying his position in a single tweet, though, with what I'm assuming is a very real gripe that they've a cheek to now be concerned about people's mental welfare when they have a long history of treating their workers as easily disposable, he went after folk who were correctly calling him out on it. He's clearly steaming and someone definitely needed to take his phone away and put him to his bed. https://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/karl-anderson-goes-ballistic-on-fans-following-wwes-mental-health-reminder Edited September 3, 2021 by djchapsticks

cb_diamond
On a lighter note, Matt Cardona continues his unreal work in GCW. The new world title belt for the most popular death match promotion in America is the "GCW Universal Title"...spinner belt!
Sherrif John Bunnell
I vaguely remembered some untrained wrestler hurting someone in TNA, but I'd forgotten it was Daffney on the receiving end. Dixie and Bully Ray don't come out of this looking good. https://twitter.com/EBorgnot/status/1433487538472300546?t=-DrLDaJZa_8-WxCWnWF54g&s=19
FairWeatherFan
It was great how Daffney got to be part of the Knockout revolution after falling out of wrestling during the early 2000s indie scramble post WCW/ECW. It was tragic how it would end though. I've managed to avoid the IG vid. However, I have seen bits of her last interview on GAW TV from the end of July. Which had some emotional moments at the time, which now with hindsight are that much more powerful. As if things had gone differently, Daffney would have been at the NWA Empower show over the weekend with old friends.

grumswall
The American dragon all but confirmed as showing up tonight. Just watched punk with Renee paquette where they pretty much confirmed it.

Interesting to see how he slips in, I'd imagine either surprise match vs Andrade or comes out after Omega inevitably defeats Christian

I know Andrade hinted at still having a match, but they bumped up the Casino Battle Royale giving 9 announced main card matches. It doesn't feel like there's time for it.

Yeah, wouldn't make much sense time wise and also neither should be getting a loss so if it did happen you'd surely be looking at a dodgy finish which wouldn't benefit anyone

Chances are that means ending the show with Omega v. Christian. I know people want Punk v. Darby to be last but that crowd will know Danielson will be appearing and would accept Omega v. Christian for what it is biding their time.

Or they could do Punk v Darby last with Garcia and 2.0 attacking Punk and Darby during the celebrations, maybe one of the commentators saying Sting was attacked backstage or something. Once Punk and Darby are down, Final Countdown hits and out comes Danielson so beat the shit out the three of them. Do the trios match on Dynamite next week. Then Danielson can go after Omega. Either way, they could have Danielson be the joker in the women's battle royal and I'd still be beyond buzzing about whats going to happen in the next few months.

Cadona did however differentiate between the two belts in a pre match promo so I hope he'll be hanging about with his spinner belt and nuclear heat a little longer.
